Overwatch Influences

Im copying a reply I had on a post as I thought that it might be fun for people to make other comparisons between overwatch and BfN. Some things could be coincidental or normal shooter type progressions but otherwise there seems to be a heavy influence from overwatch going on. What do you guys think?

Roses goatify is Hanzos dragon ultimate

Citron is now reinhardt

Super brainz is bridget

nightcap is essentially tracer, they even tried to put a scarf on nightcap like the blizzard team gave tracer in early concepts which is now what they call an energy ribbon

Engineer lays down a turret like Torbjörn

Superstar has a Winston shield generator

snipers (cactus and pirate) charge up their weapons like Widowmaker and pirate actually has an anchor/grappling hook.

Also the payload escort, although not necessarily original even to overwatch seems to work very similarly.

    I’ve never watched Overwatch (see what I did there? 🤓) so I can’t add much to the post but seeing these comparisons make me cringe.  

    We love our PvZ characters for their uniqueness and place in the franchise.

    Seeing devs chase popular games is bothersome.

    @TiltedPixel Don't pick out the most individual of things.
    Goatify is similar that stupid dragon ult but it isn't the same thing.
    I never knew reinhart had a primary that had range, or a laser beam that can kill you in a second.
    Oh I never knew Brigette had a ranged secondary weapon that does massive damage and pierces through enemies, or a Haduken.
    So nightcap has three blinks that travel her in massive distance and does more damage up close than across the map? You know I think there's a better character you can compare, but just who?
    And so does engineer from team fortress two.
    Can really argue with the all star shield.
    And so does sniper from team fortress two, like many character designs are still quiet to tf2 your just denying it.
    And so does the payload from team fortress two.

    Overwatch ripped most their ideas from team fortress 2, so what? More of these games the better I say.

    Tf2 is original and still my favourite, looking forward to overwatch 2.
