Hey, folks
Some players have reported various steps working. I thought I would update this with the steps that have resolved this error!
The idea is to delete all files related to the game from the PC so the download provides a fresh install with no older files in the registry or documents.
Delete EA License Files:
- Make sure the EA app is closed.
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
- Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
- Enable View Hidden Files and Folders
- Delete all files in the "License" folder
Please clear your temp files:
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
- Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
- Your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
- (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)
Thanks to @Sparkster90, The following steps have worked:
1. Uninstalled the game.2. I installed it again, changing the language to English. It works !!!
3. I uninstalled it again and changed the language to French, and IT WORKS !!
The last step is to rename the license folder itself. It does not have to have a specific name. - @Sparkster90 Worked! :D thanks mate , best solution
- @Sparkster90 Thank you very much. This helped!

Hi @mangomerle, So, deleting all of the folders and files from the steps in this thread did not work? I am having the same problem. Things I've done in the past to make it work are no longer working. I really love this game and am very sad that I can't play it anymore.

Hi @ctoyhep420, this is an issue that is affecting quite a few older titles like this. There are many troubleshooting steps players can take on it but, yes, it is an issue that is still being looked into. - ctoyhep4202 years agoSeasoned Novice
i am getting the same message. i chatted with ben d on ea chat and he said its a bug or something and thats its being looked into. no answer as to how long when or what. just told me to come to ea help for updates. which is terrible cause there is nothing here either.

This is still being looked into with different teams as older titles are getting similar errors:
