- Verify your game's activation status: Double-check the activation status of Plants vs. Zombies in your Origin game library. Ensure that the game is correctly registered and activated under your account. If it appears as activated, try deactivating and then reactivating it to refresh the activation status.
- Restart Origin and your computer: Close the Origin client completely and restart it. Additionally, reboot your computer to ensure that any temporary issues are cleared and the client starts fresh.
- Repair the game files: In your Origin library, right-click on Plants vs. Zombies and select "Repair Game." This option will scan the game files for any errors or missing components and attempt to fix them.
- Clear Origin cache: Clearing the Origin cache can help resolve various issues. To do this, go to the "Application Settings" in Origin and select "Advanced." Click on "Clear Cache" and confirm the action. Then restart Origin and try launching the game again.
- Update Origin: Make sure that you have the latest version of Origin installed. Check for updates in the Origin client and install any available updates.
Contact Origin support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's recommended to reach out to Origin support directly. They have access to specific account and activation information and can provide more personalized assistance to resolve the problem.I have done ALL of those things as well as the other suggestions on this thread. I have owned this game for YEARS and suddenly it gives me the message below a few weeks ago. I try to enter the product key and then it tells me I am not connected to the internet. WRONG AGAIN!
Same, also when i repair and open the game again, it creates the "71592.dlf" file again in the "License" Folder.
I deinstalled Origin and installed the EA-App.
But the problem still exists: When I am told to activate the game and put in username and PW, the system tells me they are wrong (but I use them to log on to the app the the forum).
If I choose "create new account" I am told, I was offline, however.
Same if I choose to put in a serial number
Thanks! This worked. Glad to be able to play again.

Hello, All
We wanted to follow up on this one. Can you confirm if you have followed the following steps to see if these resolve the error?
Delete EA License Files:
- Make sure the EA app is closed.
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
- Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
- Enable View Hidden Files and Folders
- Delete all files in the "License" folder.
Please clear your temp files:
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
- Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
- Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
- (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)
Log back into the platform you play on, repair the game, and launch again. If you get the same error, please post the following
- Attach the EA App Error Report ID Here
- The EA app logs can be found in C:\ProgramData\EA Desktop\Logs & C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs
- Screenshot of your give still giving the error(s)
So, how long could it take to fix this problem? Its ongoin for over a month now... :/
I just bought plants vs zombies 1. However it is not letting me play it. It is asking me to put a product key
