Plants be OP.

I won't deny that there is definitely some luck involved in this game (probably less than Hearthstone, similar to Shadowverse, but more than, say, Solforge or Pokemon) because if you don't get the right cards at the beginning (low drops) or you only get one half of the combos then you're done for.

However, most games you do get a nice mix and the fact that there is a very long thread saying that Zombies are OP is a pretty good proof of just how balanced the game is. 

Sometimes you just get screwed. I just played a game with my zombie trick deck (mostly buffers) and I only have like 4 zombies that are 4+ brain cost in the whole deck and wouldn't you know I drew 2 of them (trickster and tomb raiser zombie) along with nothing but buffer tricks for the first 5 rounds. My opponent was able to kill me with 1-2 sun cost plants before I even had a chance to play a zombie. 

i seem to have about equal wins with both. however given that there is a meta certain plant decks are horrible at the moment as well as certain zombie decks. and a lot of times a deck can straight up counter you, for instance playing a swarm plant deck against weed spray is pretty much ggwp when you start. or playing a swarm zombie deck against strikethru. 

drawing cards has an element of luck of course, but in the long run all things being equal you will draw just as good/bad as your opponents. so if you are losing a lot because of terrible draws then there might be a problem with your deck or playstyle.

either way i am sure if you post your deck we can give you some suggestions and explanations why you are drawing terrible and what match ups you should be wary off in the current meta.

one of the biggest thing is newer players try to 4x every card they put in.....you don't have to do that, you want to do a little surface math/probability on some of the tech cards *unless the tech card is just too good like the squash.

That might be why I suck. I don't have more than 1-2 squash in any of my decks and most have none haha

haha yea, generally every deck needs some removal. there are a few cards that if you cannot remove they will win the game in 2-3 turns. there is also different between hard removal that just destroies a zombie (like squash) and early game/soft removal that generally does damage or is conditional (berry blast.) you should have both.

then there is mass removal and trick removal. plants are not that good at mass removal except corn dude (legendary) and cherry bomb (which you should craft, i saw you don't got any) trick removal is stuff like buffing a plant or bonus attacking with one so it can take out a bigger creature. however you cannot only have trick removal as that is susceptible to a trick from the zombie player (for instance buffing something a bunch and he just kills it with locus and stuff)

and lets not forget removal attach to creatures such as sour cherry, bluesberry, and chomper.

and then there are the different tempo removal like bounces, moving zombies out of the way, etc. but this is generally useful in tempo decks where you just want to be able to do 20 damage pretty fast before the other player gets their stuff together.

so any deck should have at least 10 or so from as many types as possible (except tempo removal as that is generally only useful in tempo decks)

I usually play 2 or 3 squash in some of my decks. It's all about a healthy balance and depends on the strategy you are working with. A very aggro plant decks doesnt need 10+ removals in it's deck because it aims to win before the zombie has time to drop his big threats. 

I do prefer control playstyle myself and so usually go for a healthier mix of removals. But not all decks have to follow those same guidelines.

I agree, Squash is a good card but the last thing you want is to be stuck with them in your opening hand. 

I play two of them, but I have some AOE removal and loads of cherry blasts, a few legendaries as well. Rank 36 now and haven't spent a penny on gems or packs. I only ever lose to ridiculous luck by my opponent, or when I draw late game.

Sometimes it's wise to let something survive as you're setting up your plants and then saving removal for something massive, if you have board then your plants act as removal anyway.

If I had all the Heroes and all the cards I'd definitely play zombies because they are OP. My freebie Solar Flare will have to do for now... 😉
