So after seeing wolfys latest video of a laughably bad tier list someone made, I decided I'd try and make one that actually was good, and here it is.

I'm not gonna go and call myself "The best player in the world" or anything, but I have 1000+ hours, 9+ KD, and have a 71 as my highest streak (super commando) as well as dozens of other high streaks on almost everything else I play (i.e. I have over a 40 streak on all rose, average around 50, never played rose when she was op at launch).

But, I am open to changes! If you feel a particular character shouldn't be where they are, tell me! I want input as to try and make the most accurate list. I believe this is accurate, but only to me, I'd love input!

I did have a bit of a hard time ranking super brainz and pirate, as those two classes I feel have a bit of a hard line to distinguish. IMO most pirates are around the same level (flameface being awful lol) and same with brainz (with toxic being the best character in the game)

NOTES

- Fire is the worst element. No argument. Its a direct DPS nerf to stock, and if there are healers on the other team AT ALL, its completely worthless. Ice is ok as even tho healers nuder it, ice can still SLIGHTLY operate better, mainly because of its usefulness in most 1v1 situations. (Notice that the highest fire character is "OK")

- THE CHARACTERS IN EACH TIER ARE NOT IN ANY ORDER. That would just take far too long and isn't really necessary, as I feel no character really stands to much apart from the others in the same tier 

- Mechs are considered with the Imps

- Twilight is new, and therefore I almost didn't want to tier him as he needs time to be used, but IMO he's got ups and downs VERY similar to Unicorn, and therefor hes in the same tier (IMO Unicorn is overall still better)

All pretty good, but alien shouldn't be amazing, (15 damage point blank is pathetic) and roadie z is definitely not bad. Yes, he is only close range, but I constantly get vanquishes with him. if  you get hit even once by him, you can't use your abilities, (allowing you to SHRED through roses and flowers) controls are messed up, screen goes blurry, and (the best part) your sound is distorted and replaced with the very loud sound of roadie's primary. I've been roadie'd before, it's hard to win a fight when you have that debuff.

How is fire bad? Fire flower and Paleontologist are great. I frequently get a lot of vanquishes with them. Sure, base damage is somewhat lower but with all the enemies who are jumping and evading, fire damage makes sure that you will damage them even though you got 1 hit and also helps in locating them when they run away.

Yesterday, someone with max rank got most vanquishes with mystic flower so I guess it's how you use it. Also, petrified cactus is good for players who know when to detonate.
Fun fact: toxic citron can be useful(believe it or not) if enemy team is full of players who hide behind cover and shoot from a distance.

Roadie Z is a beast with double damage upgrade and a triple burst mouse so your fingers won't fall off.

First off, yes you are right, I do believe that fire flower and paleo are good, however, they are weaker then almost all others in their respective classes. 

Fire as a whole just isnt good. Take it from someone who has god like aim with a ps4 controller, fire just isnt as good as everything else in most situations, tho you are right about the fire damage being clutch sometimes

toxic cirton used to actually be my favorite citron, but iron took that spot when i got him, and i realized that toxic is just awful lol, he can be ok if the team is all around one objective, but other citrons can do that but better.

and roadie z, while my favorite engineer, is just terrible. chemist and zoologist work because of warp and high speed, but engi cant pull this off. you will be lucky if you get 3 kills in a row with him. 

I can agree with you that petrified is good, but unlike electro and cannon, petrified is a direct downgrade to almost all other cactus based on dps and consistency. 

mystic sucks, no way around it, I can drop most kills as mystic too, but that doesnt make it a good character. Its far too reliant on a poor fully charged shot to take anything down, and even still, its not very effective. things like future cactus work because of the cactis ability to still use a primary effectivly and be good at damage spreading. 

Alien is amazing, have you ever used alien on turf? best sunflower, period. the reason i didnt put alien higher is because you are right, point blank its not very good in as 1v1, however, in objective based game modes, like turf and gnome bomb, its THE best sunflower. 

so, basically. Alien is the best sunflower in every game mode that is objective based, meaning its definitely not very good compared to other sunflowers in team vanquish and vanish confirmed. Therefore i put stuffy and sun pharaoh above because they are better in death match and 1v1, and only slightly behind in objective, overall the "best" sunflowers are just slightly better then alien overall (trust me I used to think alien was the worst character in the game in GW1, now that turf is my most played game mode I have seen the light lmao)

The thing with tier lists is that they are highly subjective and don't reflect the complexity of the game.

A couple examples:

• Aim on console and PC versions affects performance
• Lag on console and PC versions affects performance
• The asynchronous design (individual character pick per team) affects overall performance
• Team synergy (strength and weakness weighted) affects performance
• Player skill and distribution affects overall performance
• The maps and modes played affect performance
• Ability usage/spam affects overall performance 

If anything i would pick 3 classes and rate them as "easy to play", "experience needed", and "hard to play". Where a regular Soldier is relatively easy to play and detonation characters for example require experience but can be really powerful. Characters like the Law Pea are generally hard to play as they cannot rely on splash and deal little damage at long range.

Thats actually a pretty good point. I made this tier list as a ps4 player who would regard themselves as a very good player, who can play every character very well. I tried to factor in everything I know about this game to consider the placements, from each characters dps in a theoretical world of 100% accuracy, to how well they play on every game mode, their usefulness, etc. One thing I stand by, for example, is engineer being the least useful class, therefore he doesn't even make "best" tier. A fine class, just not as good as the rest.

Two words to counter: sprint jackhammer

jackhammer is good and all, but its not got the "hit and run" ability that warp gives. Its just simply more of a tool for getting to one place quick and back. Though Im interested, based on my tiers, where would you move roadie up to?

I would move him to great, because as i said before, if you get hit once by him and you're sunflower/peashooter/rose you're screwed. And a lot of people seem to play them these days. Also his damage output is decent, and he can hit large groups easily, so even if you don't vanquish, you'll get a lot of assists.

Ok I can see that being a good place for him. I put him in bottom tier because of his very linear playstyle and worst survivability compared to other engies. I stand by engie being the worst class, and roadie being the worst because of how hard it is to get kills and stay alive doing so. But I can agree his effectiveness up close is very good. Maybe hes more meant to be a defensive engie protecting telo or protecting base on turf.
