Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 1

Hi,

I just bought PvZ: GW 1 and was wondering, is there any way at all to play as the Zombies in single player? Multiplayer is obviously dead after all this time so my only option is solo play.

Only plants are selectable when playing garden ops on GW1.
However, multiplayer is very much alive, at least with PS3 and PC
