Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare Hackers

I know EA really doesn't care about hackers but it's become a problem in the game lately. Every lobby is now full of people with mods. Hiding behind hedges, shooting through solid objects, taking minimal to no damage from your weapons....hanging out at spawn points and destroying a whole opposing team with a single shot.

What is the motivation behind this?

What hacks have you seen?

I'm venting because I used to really enjoy this game but it looks like the only way to have fun now is to mod my game.

  • Well, I'm afraid that we won't be able to say much about hacks we've seen, as our forte is giving support when technical difficulties pop up...

About motivation of hackers... as a former server admin in few old shooters, I would say that there are three main reasons:

    1) Making yourself feel better (the usual mindsets are 'I am a pro' and 'I feel good when I wreck people without any effort")

    2) Making others mad (Aimbot users dominate in this group)

    3) Pretending to be a better player than you really are (people with this mindset use hacks which usually are more difficult to spot, like radar, wallhack etc.)

Obviously enough, I really don't recommend tweaking your game in any way... it's rule-breaking no matter how you look at it.

Also, for future use, you can report suspected cheaters. To do it, you will need this information:

    1. Time & Date
    2. The server where cheater appeared
    3.  Number of people present on the server when it happened (a screenshot will do)
    4. A proof (recording)
    5. ID or gamertag of suspected hacker

Then go to http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/?subject=cheating&product=plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfareand and select your platform. Then choose "Report Cheating/Harassment" in topic box and write "Reporting a cheater [day when it happened]" in "Please tell us a little more about your issue" box.

When you see available contact options pick "Email me" and write your report. Generally it should follow this scheme:

    Name of the Cheater:
    Origin ID:
    Xbox GamerTag:
    Date:
    Time:
    Server:
    Which Map:
