I installed the game 3 days before and played with my son. After two days I can open the game but it didn't let me to do anything, it just wanted me to join the PlayStation Plus. Although I had allready a 14 days trial pack.
When did the 14 day trial start? Could it have perhaps ended?
Well this is VERY disappointing. I just bought this game as well. We are newbies to PS, so I was unaware that multiplayer meant that you had to have a subscription to play, I was thinking it meant more than one player could play that are sitting beside each other. Will be a lot more careful next time and read all the small print on the box the next time I purchase any games. Not sure Walmart will take it back now that we have opened it.

If its is online then why does the information state its an OFFLINE split screen.,

I also am in the same boat.. and now want my money back for the game I paid for.. when my 9 yr old son can not play it.. because he is under the 18 year age for playing online.
Bought this as a Xmas present for my boy - he has been wanting it for ages. It needed to download a huge update file and then when the game starts it says you must have PlayStation Plus to play it (to do anything!). Game says clearly on packaging that PS Plus is only required for Multiplayer online but he can't even play one player Garden Ops offline.
It says on the back cover 1-2 players and that PS Plus is only required for 2-24 players.
The ONLY option given is to sign up for PS Plus which we cannot afford. He doesn't want me to take this game back to the store for a refund as he really loves this particular game.
This is ridiculous. Surely EA needs to fix this bug or refund customers in full for false advertising. I've got a crying kid who can't even play the game.
I bought this game a Best Buy for my kids, and they haven't even been able to play it (split screen co-op or single player) because of a ridiculous requirement to have PS+ account. Outrageous! I will be returning it to get my money back, and will be wary of any other EA games I buy for non-online play enjoyment. I cannot believe this...
