12 years ago[Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare] Xbox 360 Bugs/Suggestions
Suggested here by EA representative since there's no forum for Garden Warfare
So I got Garden Warfare on Friday and things were fine for the most part on the first day but of course the longer I played, the more things I saw that took away from my experience and eventually made me end up quitting the game indefinitely until there's a patch.
- Direct hits/no damage (Possibly server connectivity) - Encountered this in a match where I would score direct hits with a Peashooter yet there was no damage notification, shooting even 5 times at one foot soldier that would not die yet would continue to cause damage to me and similar cases. It even got to the point where I hit another player directly and would see the skull marker pop-up and they'd still be alive.
- Chomper Defective Burrow - Encountered this in several matches where I would use my burrow ability to eat another player (not Engineer) and the animation would play though I would not get my points for the vanquish and at that, they'd magically reappear right next to me so I'd have to eat them a second time. Also there would be SEVERAL cases where I would be behind a player or right beneath them during Burrow with the red marker glaring and ready to execute and though I would mash the right trigger, I'd be stuck there doing nothing. And even to add on to that, I've even seen 3 cases where a Chomper has used Burrow against one of my teammates and he would be successful in eating him, but it would be beneath the map where no one could shoot him. And that's shooting the ground, shooting where he should've popped up and getting absolutely no response. The only thing that brought it back up was the end of it's eating animation where it was free to runaway.
- Mid-Game Freeze - Experienced twice so far, mid-match out of absolutely nowhere Garden Warfare would freeze up my entire console and cause me to shut it off.
- Delayed Death - 3 times I've been killed by a player in 3 seperate matches where after I was killed I would be staring at the same location I was killed with a practically blank screen. The player's name wouldn't pop up for half a minute and another half before I was allowed to respawn. Even pressing the B button immediately wouldn't help with me still not being able to spawn for another 10 seconds.
- Server Connectivity - Now of course this probably plays a large part of this, mainly due to the fact that I've been shot around corners before I could even see players, I've been dropped by Pea Gatlings within 3 - 5 seconds without me even knowing where I was getting shot from, and 1 on 1 fights where I would see my health drained though the other character would seemingly miss their shots. And this is coming as a player that's within the top 3 of most lobbies I jump into.
- (Suggestion) Peashooter Nerf - Honestly I've been in 3 lobbies so far where at least 80% of the players have been nothing but Peashooters and after playing as one, I can mainly see why. Quick, even quicker with hyper, direct hits do 35 while missing still drops them by 10 with a Pea Gatling that could drop an All-Star in an even match and a Chili Bomb that has an explosive radius almost as big as your Corn/Cone Strikes. This takes away from any resemblance of balance you could hope for, with the only thing that could possibly level up to them being a Foot Soldier which if you're lucky enough could take out a Peashooter in it's 30 shots if they're all critical hits while the Peashooter at a distance could still knock out a Foot Soldier for 25 damage per direct hit for about half of it's 10 clip.
- (Suggestion) Corn/Cone Strike Tip - Not sure if there's been a tip for this yet in the game's loading screens but as far as I've seen there hasn't been anything that notifies the player against probably the Cactus and Engineer's most used ability, so players that are just starting out and are devoid of a tutorial are going to be confused as to how they're being instantly killed by a floating drone that only does 10 damage per hit.
- (Suggestion) Engineer Ownership - I've seen too many instances where another Engineer has made a turret his own by upgrading someone else's. Now joint ownership is fine with the points shared for a vanquish but allowing another player to completely hijack something that already belonged to you? That's a no-no.
- (Suggestion) Cactus Blindfire - From my understanding the Cactus works as a sniper class. 35 per headshot, 25 per body. My problem is 1 thing, it's blindfire when in close encounters is still very dangerous when combined with it's high fire rate AND 12 shots. For reference, here's a screenshot. Now I'm not saying that you HAVE to nerf this thing's damage but you have to give it less of an edge at least accuracy-wise when dealing with it close range.
- (Suggestion) Defense's Down! - This is just meant as a notification for players for when one of their defenses go down. A large part of Gardens & Graveyards is setting down spikeweeds and potato mines that eventually end up getting destroyed, the destroyer gets a payment for getting rid of them while the person that set them down in the first place may be on the other half of the map continuing their business without even knowing their tools got destroyed. It becomes a bit unfair and doesn't allow the player to respond to whatever possibility of what's going on on the battlefield whether it was a footsoldier that shot out a potato mine or a cone strike that took out every spikeweed and potted plant within the objective area. This isn't to say that the player should be warned exactly where their defenses got taken down but at least give them the notification that it did so they have enough time to respond.
