At the time of publication of the first GW game in 2014, I have always thought that it made economic sense to have both a mobile and a console game supporting the same game theme, and later found it incomprehensible that PopCap, by withdrawing support for the PC and console-based games but continuing with the mobile-based game effectively abandoned that business model.
Still can't see the sense in that decision when considering the popularity of the PC and console-based games. Despite being a GW2 aficionado I do on occasion still play GW1 and it's a full board every time here in Europe (....when school is over and not too late in the day!)

@PerniciousPea To be fair the gw games while successful were around almost 8-10 million each while mobile games like pvz 2 easily have triple that do to being f2p and can arguably make much more money due to the cost of microtransactions.
Still though the fact that both gw games were successful regardless speaks volumes about how badly Bfn screwed up and a lot of pre release development evidence downright confirms that.
