PS4 disc install

I have the PS4 physical disc. The game continues to spin the disc at high speed after the initial install. I have been playing the game for a few months. The game seems to have never finished installing. The disc will only stop spinning after I closed the application. Is this normal?

When you install a game the entire contents of the disc is not installed to the hard drive. Your console is just pulling game data and graphics etc. from the disc.
