PvZ Freezes when joining 2 out of 3 games - works perfect when it works

The game freezes on me, some times on the very first start up screen (daisy stops spinning) but most of the time its just as I'm joining a game, but before I can chose a character. Screen freezes, no error messages. If I wait long enough it usually boots me back to the PvZ start up screen saying I've been disconnected from EA servers.

1 in 3 times (or so) I can join a game and it plays perfectly. I've never joined two games in a row / stayed in a game for more than one round.

Tried clean boot.

Tried running as admin.

Cant find any error messages. Some times I just kill it with task manager

    3) 2nd Gen HD2000/3000

    2/5/2015   appears to be the latest

    ======

    HP's I think often will "block" generic intel drivers and you want you to use HP's several year old ones...  If the exe refuses to install because of an error like "Must use manufacture drivers".

    Try uninstalling current Intel HD Drivers from Control Panel.

    Restart

    Try installing the EXE again.

    If that fails... then you'll need to FORCE them on with the ZIP method  (download the zip package instead of the exe first)

    I had to uninstall all display drivers intel and amd  in device manager. Then downloaded intel driver update to and installed latest drivers from intel. Didn't install any AMD drivers as it now looks to work perfectly.
