PvZ Garden Warfare 1 — Proposal for a Low-Cost F2P Pilot (90 Days)

Hello,

I would like to propose a realistic and low-risk opportunity regarding Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 1.

GW1 is a fully amortized title with active servers and a nostalgic player base, but currently no recent data exists to evaluate its real market potential in today’s ecosystem.

Proposal (Low Risk Pilot):

Make Garden Warfare 1 Free-to-Play for a limited 90-day test

No new content

No gameplay changes

No heavy development

Minimal Live Ops support only

Objective: Collect real engagement and monetization data:

DAU / MAU

Player retention

Server activity

Cosmetic conversion rate

Why this makes sense:

Infrastructure already exists

Development cost is minimal

Positive community and brand perception

Clear, data-driven decision after 90 days

This pilot would allow EA to objectively reassess the PvZ Shooter license with very limited financial risk and could serve as a gateway for future decisions.

Thank you for considering this proposal.

I agree with this approach. Garden Warfare 1 is already fully built, the servers are active, and the title is clearly under-evaluated due to a lack of recent data. A limited Free-to-Play pilot would be a low-risk way to measure real engagement and reassess the PvZ Shooter license objectively. A short, data-driven test (for example 60–90 days), without new content or major development, makes sense from a business perspective. If the results are negative, nothing is lost. If the results are positive, EA gains valuable insight at minimal cost. This kind of pilot feels much more realistic than asking for a full revival or a new title. Thanks for sharing a clear and reasonable proposal.
