PvZ Garden Warfare loads normally but mouse and keyboard are not responding

My installation of Garden Warfare loads normally, connect to the EA servers and gets to the main menu. However, at that point neither the mouse nor the keyboard respond to any command. The mouse pointer is not freezed, I can move it, but it does not respond to any clicks.

In the end I have to force close the game from the Windows Task Manager.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

    Do you have any controllers/gamepads connected?

    If you have software running for a controller, close it all up.

    If your controller is working, you could try to navigate to controlls and check them to be sure.  Disable controller maps.

    You can try forcing Borderless Mode;

    C:\Users\admin\Documents\PVZ Garden Warfare\settings\PROF_SAVE_profile

    NotePad

    Borderless

    GstRender.FullscreenMode 2

    GstRender.FullscreenScreen 1

    FullScreen

    GstRender.FullscreenMode 0

    GstRender.FullscreenScreen 0

    Same problem here... Game loads fine, but does not react to keyboard og mouse press.. Also tried with a logitech game controller, a fresh Windows 10 install - still nothing. Very frustrating. PvZ 1 and all other games works fine.

    The Garden Warfare games are a major step upward in all respects, and have seriously higher requirements than previous Plants vs Zombies games.  Without a qualified machine, this error shows up frequently.

    Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 1

    Minimum:
        Required: Internet connection required to install and play
        DVD-ROM: N/A
        OS: Windows 7/8 64bit
        Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 GHz
        RAM: At least 4GB RAM
        Video Card: NVIDIA 8800GT, AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5750
        Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c
        DirectX: 10.0+
        Hard Drive: 15 GB
        Input: Keyboard, Mouse or Dual Analog Gamepad

    @netbjarne

    Hi Netbjarne,

    I think you are having trouble with PvZ:GW2 right and not the first GW1?  This thread is from 2014 and is about the first game.

    ----

    In GW2 some people have reported problems like this and the solution is rather unorthodox.   Users have said (typically Intel Graphics laptops) to do this:

    Launch the game.

    Minimize when it's up.

    Go to Device Manager.

    Click on the Intel Display Adapter

    Click Update -> It finds nothing  ((this step might not be needed))

    Now open the game back up.

    I don't know why that works but multiple people have said minimizing fixes it until they open it again.

    ---

    If you have a laptop that has nVidia or AMD supplemental graphics, make sure to force them "ON".

    @netbjarne

    I'd overlooked the great age of the message thread.  It is considered a waste of time to dig up threads more than about three months old.  I'm less than optimistic about the use of low end Intel video chips for any really decent games.  If that's all that you have, I recommend an upgrade of the hardware or a request to a Game Adviser for credit on a less demanding game.

IntelMinDriverVersion 100.1000
