PvZ GW2 on PC once again unplayable due to influx of hackers

As some of you are aware, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 just turned 10 years old. The celebration that happened yesterday ended up attracting the attention of many hackers on the PC platform, who had made it so that every lobby was unplayable (everyone in the lobby would have 1hp and be invisible). This effectively made multiplayer not an option for anyone playing on PC and locked a major portion of the content of the game away. Multiple people have also gotten outright “banned” due to a leveling exploit applied to someone’s EA account that has been previously done before.

It is not known exactly how this is done on such a scale like this, but it overall has ruined the PC platform’s experience as we know it.

Popcap Vancouver is no longer in service, this I know. They don’t have the team they did before to be able to uphold the game to the degree they did before. But at the same time, PvZ GW2 is a game that is still sold, still offered as a functioning product, and still enjoyed by thousands.

EA, something, anything, needs to be done about this.
