I understand many of you guys' grievances but I think about it from the developers point of view. Yes, they do test the game to make it balanced; however, you never know how it is going to play out when you release it to the public to play. There are things that they can't control or didn't expect so give them ample time to fix their mistakes. I still have a lot of faith in this game
@ UDBlackFist
Back in the day there were people called games testers........ Folk like you and me who were paid bare minimum to play the same part of a game over and over again in order to find bugs before release. You know, the days when a game had no choice but to be right first time around because there was no such thing as the convenience of live updates to right the wrongs.
Let's look at the GW2 beta test that happened a couple of weeks before launch. My interpretation of a beta test was to make a game available to the general public in order to gauge feedback on things that aren't quite right with the product and assess accordingly. A huge army of free games testers if you like. The developers then go away, collate the data, fix accordingly and either release a second beta to confirm changes or release the game as a working product. Correct?
Well apparently not. In today's day and age it appears that an open beta is merely a platform for advertising a game prior to it's launch - with any problems (gamebreaking or otherwise) pencilled in for patch/es after it's release. Think about it, there's no way on god's earth that a game can be public tested, assessed for issues, fixed and readied for release in a couple of weeks so how is it possible that the GW2 beta was released to do the job it was supposed to do!
So no, I absolutely disagree with your comments because everything is controllable and there is no argument as to why a product is released in sub-standard condition.
Listen, nobody cares about the minor bugs in games (these will happen regardless) - what people bear a grievance to are the ones that are so blatantly obvious that it's almost painful to comprehend how they were overlooked in the first place.
I paid £55 for a day one experience - an experience that I fully expect to be exactly the same as that of someone who goes out and pays £29.99 for the same game a few months later.
I did not pay £55 to discover that the game may not be exactly what it says on the tin and just I'm part of some ongoing fix-a-thon in order to make the game a better experience for those who pay £29.99 for it.
Anyone who actually condones the latter is inadvertently part of the problem.

it is boring because the game is bad and the final result is it being boring.
it is boring due to how they made all the new classes much better then all the classic classes
so all you see in games are the new stuff superbrains imps pirates and on the plants team mainly corn because thats the only pure damage class on plants side from the new classes
playing all the classic variants puts you in a disadvantage the moment you pick them as they do not have the ability sets to handle the new classes
you could play cactus at all ranges and all play styles on GW1 but on GW2 you need to limit yourself to careful long range sniping
and you will be over matched at that as well by the pirate and the overall higher pace of the game does not fit the class.
peashooter lacks abilities you are forced to play it from a distance as a camping spammer relaying on splash damage
you cant play it inside the action without dying excessively as you are missing the abilities to handle all the new zombie classes
for example hyper is the only ability for peashooter to escape from all these situations
electro arc escape , superbrains spinning , scientist warping in , engineer coming at you with a stun , pirate barrel , imp grenade , zpg escape , all star tackle.
basically the game design is meant for you to die 1 for 1 so it does not matter how many different threats there are initial design is for you to duel against 1 guy and win or die and if you win probably die a second after from another thing.
flower is less of a thing in gw2 with all the powerful zombies around in gw1 you could handle all situations and go 1 for 1 based on skill
gw2 healing is less of a thing altogether with regen and the faster game pace revolving around dying a lot and which team suicides more into the garden
i could go on and on but overall this game is dumbed down majorly in every single way possible so of course it is also boring
only people who wont find this boring are casuals and this is the crowed they aimed this game for this time much more then gw1 like x100 times more focus on causing the casual player to be able to at least get 1 kill die and repeat at ease with all the op variants and abilities a result that will satisfy the casual player
in gw1 a casual player could end a round with a very low amount of kills as the game was more balanced you actually needed skill
and you could have been killed repeatedly by better players and leave the casual player frustrated
they aimed to solve this in GW2 with what i stated above
basically playing this game the "right" way will force you to play carefully from the back resulting in camping spam which gets boring
if you really want to submit to this game you need to throw your sense from the window and your skill and just rush head on with all abilities going
you will probably end up high on the score board but with around a kdr of 1 to 2
and personally i just cant play dumb if you dont need skill to play then what am i even doing playing this game at the first place
they knew the new variants have no real fit inside the existing gw1 variants
so they had to artificially make them better for example pirate vs cactus parrot vs drone
the game having 7 classes on each side is an illusion or a technicality
truth is this game is the new classes game and not even that as the plants new classes are not as good and the zombies and not as popular
do you understand popcap really thought OP rose was fine? they freaking launched the game like that what is there to say after that...
the whole plant side was riding on a single class popcap could not even create a balanced game within the new classes themselves
this game is filled with bad decisions made at the highest levels
the result is a really bad game

I found this game to be really fun. All done with the quests now so I am bored now but I did puts lots of hours in. I really do hope they add a lot of new content.
