Its using DirectX 11.
However, it seems to have stopped now - it's quite possible another program interfers with DirectX (I do suspect Windows 8.1 has a memory problem somewhere).
In addition, I repaired the game!

I get crashes too on exit every now and then. It's just sloppy programing. I just hit Alt + F4 when I wanna leave... Saves me the Ctr + Alt + Del method. Never crashes with that.
Game is a very slow loading aswell. I put this game on RAMDISK and it still loads just as slow as Raid0 SSD's.
This game is far from optimized.
