Not sure if this will help but I've noticed PvZ doesn't like overlays from other software, for example if I have Fraps running ( fps monitor / record gameplay footage etc) PvZ will start crashing randomly, took me awhile to figure this out because Ive never had such issues w/ Fraps over the years.
Other than this the game has been stable for me in Win 7, been playing it daily over the last couple months. (i7 950 / 12GB / EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition)

The bit I don't get about this game is I have a desktop with an msi hd 7850 2gb in it which can play battlefield 4 (which uses the same frostbite 3 engine) very nicely but p vs z:gw still crashes out?
