In the Town Hall to the right when you enter you will find a seagull and next to him you'll find a key which you can buy for 25 Stars. Once you've bought the key go down into the sewers; across from the Crazy Targets range you'll find an opening which will take you down deeper towards the Gnome Chamber. Across from the Gnome Chamber is a door with a large padlock which the key will open.

Once you open that door you'll find a portal to the Gnomiverse. Passing through the portal you'll find yourself in a new area with a large pavilion and a Pit/Portal in front of it. Off In the four "corners" of this area you'll find four doors of a different color- your key will open the door of the matching color which will allow you access to the Trial which lies beyond that door.
