The fact that you don't even know her gender tells me that you don't know enough about the hero to criticize her.

Anyway, try a draw deck with her.  You'll change your mind.  Smarty has a surprising amount of card draw I've noticed.  Bean Counter, Sow Magic Beans, Mayflower, Big Chill, Rescue Radish...

Flourish really helps Sow Magic and Bananasaurus Rex obviously benefits from all this.
