Thank you. I tried it and got a temporary error from EA when I entered my login and password data. It was not a message that I did not enter correct information.
I will retry it later again and see if it works.
Hi there, I've just tried it again. I used the button of the 2nd controller to activate the 2nd player (PS5). After this it prompted me to enter the EA login data. I did and again got a message that it does not work.
Anything else I can try?
P.S. I did manage to enter the EA data for the 1st player but for the 2nd player it just does not accept the login data. When I use the exact same login data on my PC, within a browser, it works every time.
@toriancarconn1 What happens if you use the second player's account as the first player, or in other words, what happens if you sign in to the game normally as the second player's account, and then sign in as the first player's account in split-screen?
You could also try restarting your console, and ensure that the second account is linked to a PlayStation username.
Hi,
I've tried it and unfortunately I get the same result. I'm attaching a screenshot of the error message here. This is the message I receive after I enter the login data.
It does not matter if the account with which I'm having issues is the 1st or the 2nd player within Plants vs. Zombies.
I tried the same thing on FIFA 22 and get the same result! My account works. The account of a family member does not. Does one need to somehow connect the particular PS5 user to the corresponding EA user account?
Why does the login data work within a browser, on my PC, but not on PS5?
This is so frustrating.
Regarding ..."and ensure that the second account is linked to a PlayStation username.": how exatly do I test this out?
I tested restarting PS5 but it did not help. This second part of your sentence might lead to sth. Not sure.
- @toriancarconn1 Correct, each EA account must be linked to a PS5. For example, for each EA account you use on the PlayStation, you must link it to a PS Username. If this has not been done, then you will not be able to log in with these EA accounts. Only a single EA account can be linked to a PS Username, so pick carefully.
Follow this link for further assistance of how to link accounts, or how to check if you have linked an account: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/link-your-console-accounts.
If this issue persists after all of these steps, you could open a case with EA regarding this issue. If so, follow this shortcut link: https://help.ea.com/plants-vs-zombies/plants-vs-zombies-battle-for-neighborville/. I've tried. See attached image.
Options?
@toriancarconn1 It seems like this whole issue is around because of not being able to link the account. I looked at the linking accounts article I posted and this is what I saw:
"I’m getting an invalid or ineligible account error:
Try resetting your EA Account password, and make sure that the platform you’re trying to use is connected to your EA Account. To do this:
- Click the Log In button at the top of any help.ea.com page.
- Click on the Accounts dropdown in the middle of the screen, then choose Account Security.
- Go to the Connections tab.
- Scroll down to Connected Accounts. If you don’t see your platform, it isn’t linked."

Try those steps that I posted above if you have not already. Otherwise, the article also suggests that if you are unable to log in to your EA account on your console, that you could try logging in to your EA account on a computer on the help.ea.com website and check your settings on the EA account (and make any changes you find necessary). After this, try restarting your console again and then try to log in to your EA account on the game and see if this works.
Hopefully at least one of these options work! 🤞
