Re: Not enough memory

765m definitly doesn't have shared memory.

Virtual Memory is just your HD (or SSD).. it's soooooo much slower than your RAM.. it's called 'Thrashing' and it's terrible... really doubt that is what is happening.

I was curious since I never look at my video memory usage in a game of GvG... it topped out at about 950MB (total, not just the process, multi-montiors).  Did you check your regular RAM or video RAM to get 1.1GB?  Either one seems about right though.

4291247172kb  lol that's 4.3TBs ... let's just ignore that I think?  Even in bits that's still half a TB... I've seen that before on these error messages and just let it go... I have to be missing something..

Setting a frame limiter may help, disable Vsync... personal opinion I dislike vsync even when the system I'm using can handle it (i.e. always stay above refresh rate)  here's some reading on it if your interested: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=928593

Vsync = for screen tearing

Frame Limiter = reduce input lag, smoother, less power/heat... (can help tearing but not like Vsync does it with buffers; I rarely notice tearing.. I notice microstutter tho!!)

Open Notepad.
Copy and Paste this:

GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60

Save it as "user.cfg"

You cannot have user.cfg.txt
enable "View Extentions of Known File Types" from Folder Options in Control Panel

Put it in your PvZ directory
\\Origin Games\Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare

----

Here are a lot more commands you can put into that file:

RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 0
PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
PostProcess.DofMethod 0
PostProcess.BlurMethod 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOMethod 0
Render.VSyncFlashTestEnable 0
WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionForceOn 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
WorldRender.SpotlightShadowmapResolution 256
WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 0
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 0
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 0
RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60

-------------------------

Reinstall the DX from the game's installer folder:

\Origin Games\Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare\__Installer\directx\redist\DXSETUP.exe

((doubt it but hey, very easy thing to try))

--------------------------

Aggressively wipe old drivers and install them all fresh.

- I'm assuming you have been on older versions that did the same thing too

--------------------------

Others have reported that under-clocking the GPU by a hair can get rid of DX errors very similiar to this.

Frame limiter from above has also been reported to help.

765m looks like it 850mhz/4000mhz.... maybe try something like 800mhz/4000mhz or 657mhz/4000mhz (this is a 760m)  or target memory  3600mhz perhaps... just guesses on things I'd try if I was doing it.

Depending on how well it's playing it now (i.e. how much it can get above 60).. you might not notice any performance difference.

--------------------------

If it keeps happening, using the Frame Limiter from before, does it still happen just as often if you reduce the visual levels in the game?
