Re: Plants vs Zombies REPAIRVILLE

@Shadowphinx101 I keep seeing this but is it actually that bad? Because this is just something that happens in game development, even with a 'repairville' update. When bugs are fixed, most of the time new ones are created. Unless it is really that bad. And yes, I also want this because the game is very laggy and has poor hit detection in some parts. Hard to recommend because of that, but otherwise I'll tell all of my friends to get it.

  • @shurikeninja Well BFN rn is an ok game. But I think many people just feel like with every update that characters aren't being balanced as well as they could, dmg dropoff doesn't occur and they are still lot's of bugs in the game. Many peple want this to happen because it makes the game much more smoother and fairer. The coordinator of Repairville, who is in the forums btw, has created a document of all known bugs, created a community tierlist on the characters and many other things. So I think the fact that the community is so enthusiastic for this to occur, is something the devs should be proud of becauseit shows the development and fondness the players have to the game, BECAUSE THEY CARE AND WANT IT TO GET BETTER.

I think the biggest thing the devs need to take from this is that, as a community, we all want to help. The balancing, fixing bugs etc. and the whole reason #Repairville is spreading is because more people want to help. Now, we aren't trying to complain and just make a negative view on what the devs are doing, because quite frankily in the environment they are in, it's quite incredible (the prize map, new maps and skins etc.), but I feel that the community want to be involved more, and perhaps to have more of a focus on balancing and bug fixes first, before anything new.

@Shadowphinx101 Right, of course I agree. Unrelated, but I think repairville should be a constant thing that at least happens over the next few months, not just for one update, because it'll likely happen again. And I'm not just talking about bugs, but also balance (something like the Chomper buffs could happen again) what's important is constant transparency and communication from the developers.

Also, I think it's amazing the lengths that the community have gone to help get this game in good shape. Could I see that bug-list btw?
  • @shurikeninja We've had several videos been made about, in different countries, and it's going crazy on reddit. There's a discord specifically for it. So, it's a lot.

^This. So much this. I like the devs of all the PvZ games but especially the GW and BfN teams. The only reason I even have a Twitter and Reddit account is to keep up with them and these games. This is why even when I post about problems or other issues I never get nasty about it. I'd love to just hang out with the team and talk about the games and other stuff!

If I didn't love the PvZ IP like I do, I may have done like I did with the mess that is OW and just uninstall and never look back. There are some decisions that mystify me, and I wish we could get more of the why on some things, and better communication in general (ex: when are we getting Ops phase 3, what is their opinion on steam blaster, and so on), but at the end of the day the PopCap team are great folks and I want BfN to reach that full potential.

I played some TT last night and I'm seeing a lot of new folks again so it looks like the Steam release and sale are helping. Only 2 of us in the time I played were 1K+ rank plates and only briefly had any bots as people jumped in. The better the game plays and feels for folks, the more likely they will hang around so its a win/win for everyone involved.

    #Repairville.
