Re: PvZ Heroes Feedback: Pros and Cons

I'm going to try to be as fair as possible.

Pros:

1. Addictive game play.  With hundreds of unique cards to toy around with, you can never get bored of this game.  I can only play this game 2 days a week.  On those 2 days, 90% of my time is spent playing this game.  No matter how frustrating it can be sometimes (I'll talk about that in cons), it still manages to keep me addicted.

2. Packs & Gems.  With the ads giving you gems and how cheap packs can be, it's a really rewarding system that makes the game feel f2p.  I've noticed that the luck of packs has increased recently, with 80% of premium packs I open containing at least 1 super-rare or better.  This, plus the powerful event cards everyone can get, makes the game enjoyable for everyone.

3. Balance.  This was already mentioned by @daalnnii but I want to mention it again because the balance in this game truly is great.  There is an exception, however...(will talk about in cons)

Cons:

1. Deck limit.  The deck limit recently has decreased form 100 to 90.  Yes, strategy decks were added, but I would just consider them options/recommendations and not actual decks.  I usually make 5-6 decks per hero: Control, Aggro, Major tribe #1 (Ex: Pea deck), Major tribe #2, Something unique to the hero, and maybe something else focusing on a specific ability (Self-Hurt, Anti-Hero, Armor, ect.).  Now, the limit is 4 per hero, with 5 extra per side.  It feels so limiting, at least IMO.

2. Sneaky.  Every class is so balanced, but this one...no matter what deck, play style, hero, or class I use, Sneaky wins against me roughly 75% of the time.  Why?  Well, it has no definitive weakness.  Tell me what play style, hero, or class counters Sneaky.  That's right, virtually nothing.  Anti-Hero + Smoke Bomb is such a cheap combo, and due to Stealthy Imp only being an Uncommon and Smoke Bomb only being a Common, EVERY Sneaky player has access to it.  Oh yeah, and Surprise Gargantuar.  Smoosh-Shroom is a 5/4 5-cost Common.  Surprise Gargnatuar is a 5/6 5-cost Common with "Gravestone.  When revealed: Move this zombie.", plus it's a gargantuar.  WHAT?!  Also, Imp decks.  No card disadvantage because of Commander, and no minion disadvantage because of Toxic Waste Imp.  Very balanced.  Also, Deadly in general.  A re-usable free Locust Swarm whenever a zombie with this trait hits a plant.  Perfectly balanced.  And now that Fire Rooster is out, not even mushrooms can defeat it.  Please, EA...if there were a Weed Spray for plants, that would make Sneaky balanced, because so many of its zombies have 2 strength or less.

Phew...long rant.  Anyway, that's all.

I totally agree with replayable mission (I am crazy for this)

single player is best way to practice different deck and heroes or amazing card

also some mission have a amazing grimick like more or less healing heroes that make even fun as well as practice

casual match I lose for sure I defeated within 3 turn

    20+mission is too hard

    pvz2 and pVz gw2 is 100% replayablilty

    Haha, yep.

If I get Super Brainz as an opponent, I rest my finger on my device's home button. If a Ninja is the first thing that is played, I force-quit immediately. They can sit there for the next minute twiddling their thumbs while I play against someone else.

I'm not interested in playing a match where my opponent spends all of their cards in the first 3 turns jumping all over the place.

The first few thousand times playing that deck was enough for me.

@GrinningRuiner Brainy, Hearty, and Sneaky are the meta.  Two of these things are tolerable.  One of these is absolute feces.  If your deck doesn't prioritize in early game control with 4x Grave Buster, you may as well concede.

The sneaky class being strong must be a thing on lower levels only. Gravestones are good, but because of mixed up+pogo, not because of surprise gargantuar lol. you can beat them by playing cheap minions to clog your lanes. shroom for 2 counters ninja on turn 1. i dont think i lost to stealthy imp during the last month either. most high end gravestone decks play line dancer instead anyway.

on topic: pro: the game seems balanced. there are really strong decks (and cards) but since plants and zombies have their fair share of strong cards, its all cool. tricksters for example seem op, but on the other hand, so is GoW/Dandy or Pineclone. every card has good counters. or they are so expensive that you can beat them with quick decks.

con: its really boring once you hit ultimate league. there just is nothing to do. you can play around with decks, thats fun, but tbh i dont care if i have 700 or 800 stars or 900. so i just play to get the event cards, but it starts feeling like a chore. give us some goals.

    1) people like the one quoted above should punished by losing stars or gems or tickets if thy are consistently leaving a game like that instead of conceding. And for sure the people they are playing against should get extra stars (in a rated game) or gems or tickets when they do that (obviously not if they are playing against friends in their lists, but any other time.) It's extremely rude to be in the middle of a game, and be winning and some sore loser decides to cop-out instead of conceding.

    2) I just saved 1500 gems and bought the beta-carrotina 1,500 gem, 11-pack deal, and still don't have her! That's ridiculous and extremely frustrating!

    3) since the new cards came out, there are a TON of glitches and bugs in the game (frozen zombies still attacking, pine clones turning plants that appear AFTER the pone clones are played into pine clones, etc...) super annoying.

Haha, yeah that guy was a real moron.

In ranked games people do lose stars for leaving early. And is waiting an extra 15 seconds really that big of a deal?

I wholeheartedly agree with your other points. They really need to try harder to make the game bug-free.

I also saved up 1500 gems for the Beta-Carrotina multi-pack, but didn't get her. Obviously, the drops are random, and I understand that, but it is so frustrating. I wish it was clearer whether she would continue to be available after this week.

EA: The game is fun! I particularly enjoy the daily challenges. Please be more transparent about your countdowns, such as whether Beta-Carrotina will be available in the future. Thank you for clarifying that the new season will begin next week. That was very confusing when the Announcements said it had ended!

Point 2: Drops are random.  Even if you open 11 packs, it's still more than likely not to get the hero.  I feel bad for you though, I opened one of the same pack and got her on my first try.

Point 3: The pineclone part is NOT a glitch.  It's how the game works: Everything is done in the order from left to right.  Let me explain this through an example.

Lane 1 has any plant, Lane 2 has the Mushroom Grotto environment and any plant, Lane 4 has any plant, and the remaining lanes are empty.  You play Pineclone on Lane 3.  It transforms all plants into Pineclones at once, of course.  Whenever a plant is transformed, the game counts that as playing another plant, so the game checks for all of their "When played" abilities in order from left to right.  Transforming that plant on Lane 2 counts as playing a plant there, which activates Mushroom Grotto's ability, and a Puff Shroom is created in Lane 1.  Going from left to right still, the Pineclone on Lane 4 is technically "played", so the game activates its "When Played" ability, which is to transform all plants into Pineclones.  So, it transforms that Puff-Shroom on Lane 1 into a Pineclone.  Not a glitch,

I am liking this new update very much for the sharper graphics and faster animations and especially for giving back the random background. I know that isn't even something affecting the actual gameplay, but it is nice to have a change in the sceneries rather than just the same one every vs game. A couple little things in the collection at the top of our decks page where it shows you the 10x and 5x and then are highlighted when the bottle is full.

All in all my hat is off to you(the dev team) for definitely a nice update at least from my iPod touch and hopefully things continue to run smoothly like it's been since the bug fixes. Cheers! 👍

    1) Sour Grapes (Berry Plant) able to kill most of the Sneaky's army that are less than 2 health.

    2) Sneaky is one of the Heroes that is unable to HEAL himself neither any of its army able to do so, hence blast it with your Green Shadow's Precision Blast or Grass Knuckles' Power Pummel ability to zap away 25% of his overall health.

    3) Recently, the developer has increased the number of brains required for Medulla Nebula (environment) from 2 to 3 brains, it increases the difficulty for Sneaky to amass brains in a short time.

    4) Sneaky has very few ambitious army, you may want to increase yours and use it against it. Example, a cheat card,  Admiral Navy Bean (a cheating card with so much ability with very low consumption of sun light!!!).

    5) Can't help much if the Sneaky player has Teleport card but not many player has it as it cost 4,000 to craft it unless, it a rich player who willing to spend on this game.

    that's all folks.

I think the daily challenges need a bit of work.

The puzzle ones where you have to win in one move are generally clever, instructive, and fun.  However, could we please remove the ones where the player is given a garbage deck with no synergy and no decent cards, and the CPU is given an awesome deck where every card benefits every other card, plus has special rules that help the CPU far more than the player?  Those ones are more frustrating than fun.

I agree with you on that. There are usually two days out of the week that are completely luck driven decks it seems. You are given a starting hand with all high casting cost cards(at least my challenge anyways) like 4 and 5 amd and even of you swapped for another, usually it's not any better.
It seems like the challenge is to overcome the first three rounds and then try to catch up on the cpu opponent, which again is more lucky and frustrating than challenging and fun.

I honestly can't see chat with this being an all ages game, imagine a 7 year old playing and gets lucky a few times in the game...you never know who is on the other side. But I still think they should make it so you can message friends while only one of you are online.
    Really would make sense.
And trading cards will almost certainly never happen because it is too easy to cheat and "registered players" will skyrocket...if you follow me..
I only say this not to rain on your hopes there, but because of another game I used to play online MLB Dugout Heroes. And the game forum was waaaaay more active there, and one guy who was, I guess he would be like our "champions" he ran most the forum and put on monthly tournament(s).
Anyways this guy started an online petition for us to trade players. Because you could get allstar or regular of same guy, and if you had a cub and I had a brewer, and we both were playing with the team of the players the other guy had, why's it that we can't just swap?
They actually answered. For real. And said a bunch of blah blah that they've got to say, and basically it would be too difficult to figure if someone is making multiple accounts and making one allstar team.
And we even specifically said about player rating had to be within a certain limit(like for pvzh you could trade rare for rare but not for superrare. We asked for damn near straight across trading and they said no go to that as well.
Hopefully I get proven wrong, but most likely not.
