Re: Snapdragon seems kinda bad?

@Gowron248SnapDragon's fire damage is really good, doing 9 damage per second, but his FlameBlower might need more Direct damage. Swoop Slam doesn't feel very useful either. It sends you straight up and is very predictable. Swoop Slam is only good defensively or if the enemy doesn't see you coming. Also he is a very easy target  (Which isn't a bad thing but it doesn't help his case). Blazing Trail is a good defensive tool. He is very much a jack of all trades characters, I find him underwhelming, but he's a decent pick.

However, SnapDragon is also really stupid. His FlameBlower has too much range and Blue Blazes is does too much damage. I say revert the changes of Blue Blazes, Nerf the range and buff the damage of FlameBlower.

Swoop Slam might need a rework too. First off, it's not very fun to use. It would be better if it gave more Control to the player instead of doing the tackling for you. Snapdragon has wings so he should be able to fly more. Why not make it so Snapdragon can actually fly in the air for a certain amount of time and the player chooses when they "Swoop" down and do the damage? While making sure Snapdragon doesn't have too much mobility, I think this would be a lot more fun. (You could also apply this to Space Cadet's smashing ability)

I think it supposed to be used to close the distance but there's no point because FlameBlower doesn't do enough damage to make it worth it and it has a lot of range.

  • @Pheesley I'm sorry for contributing to the problem, however this post was made in September when snapdragons primary was really bad to say the least.
    Weak damage.
    Fire in general was bugged.
    Horrible hit reg.
    etc etc.
It's quiet odd to see how long hes come from easily the worst spawnable in the game, too one of the worst characters in the game, too just ridiculously op.

@The4DAdvocate Aye, he's been through quite some changes.

I hope I'm not missing any, but @DeAtHaDDiCtiOn5 the following changes were made since the original post (as well as other meta changes), so that'll recontextualise things.

    • Flame Blower:
      • Improved projectile size and trajectory
    • Flare Ball:
      • Increased number of shots before overheating
    • Swoop Slam:
      • Updated ability camera to be easier to aim
  • Hey @EA_David Thanks for your reply! I personally love Snap Dragon exactly how he is and don’t think he needs any changes whatsoever. Appreciate the update and with those things now implemented, Snappy will be even more lethal than before! 🐉 🔥

@DeAtHaDDiCtiOn5  Snapdragon's come very far since his first release in this game, remember when Nightcap and Acorn were wisely used during Founder's edition and was quite OP, and Snapdragon was not commonly used, but now he gets seen a lot in games, along with Nightcap and Acorn, nice to see he's used a lot more and to see how far he has come since Founders. 🙂

  • @TheSprinter85 I was one of those players that never utilized Snap Dragon especially during the first weeks of release. Now is a whole different story. Acorn and Night Cap are seeing a ton of action at the moment but with today’s patch and balancing fixes get put into place, they’ll be a lot easier to hit and we should see a decline in use almost right away. With the ability to hop around like a bunny and being next to impossible to hit, both are absolutely dominant at the moment..until later today. 🙂
