There will be split screen game modes at launch on PS4 and XBOX One but not for PC I'm afraid.

Why no split screen on PC?
I really want split screen for the pc version of the game. Its a real shame they didn't include it for PC. We didn't have it for the previous game either.
EA, this comes from my heart when seeing my children playing turn-based or time lap based, waiting to play one after the other:
We, PC Gamers also paid this game the same way ps4 and xbox players do. Can we get the full game too? I've my PC connected to my tv and play it with my children. I have controllers and a nice graphics card, and guess what? There is hope in my mind about you. I trust you and I'm really waiting for you to deliver the split screen functionality for PC gamers too. That's what I say to my children "Kids, lets wait a couple of months to get split screen, EA is a good company and they care about their customers, they gonna make it".

What kind of design decision is not supporting all the features for PC? First there's no voice chat and now there's no split screen. I could understand if it was a console where hardware limitations might hurt two people trying to play at once but this is just silly.

Creating the game for PC requires optimizing the game for different hardware configurations. Something which consoles doesn't need. So, the time to do this might have been taken from Splitscreen / voice chat as gamers on PC usually use 3rd party voice communication programs (like the one built into Origin) and don't play split screen.
It's not like just decided to not carry over these functions from console as the code used for console would simply not work on PC - so they would have had to spend resources reprogramming these features on PC and considering the few PC gamers who would actually use these 2 features I personally think it made sense for them to focus on something else.
But why play like call of duty, you can play in split screen on the pc and not on ,the very good play, pvz GW2???
The Xbone and PS4 are both basically custom PCs, with their AMD APUs. While you are partially right in claiming the same code won't run on a PC, both consoles are so close to a PC that it would not be very hard at all to port it to PC.
I can play GW2 on the integrated GPU that my 4790k has, at a lower resolution than 1080p of course. (I don't use this to play the game though, I just launched it on the wrong monitor and it loaded up fine using the integrated GPU.)
It's really not that much of a demanding game at all.
I really want split screen for the PC. I do not understand why they would not do that. Now if EA could answer if they will make an update for it in the future or if not that would be great! Because through this discussion people have asked and they have not answered and an answer is better than to leave people guessing.
Not buying that awesome game only because PC version is missing split-screen, you make that version has same funciality as other i will buy. Way i can not play it with my brother ? Only because i had more powerful game machine which is PC platform.
This is terrible injustice and really stupid decision on the part of the dev team.
I think there is no hope because this game is no longer developed.

Depends on the volume of sales that they may have lost fron NOT including split screen with PC version. How do they measure such a metric? Whatever method they use, pop-cap can throw myself as a lost customer onto the heap.

Why was splitscreen removed from the pc version ??? That seems petty & mean-spirited !! I'd even pay for an extra DLC pack to get splitscreen ! 2 wireless game controllers + htpc in living room = we need splitscreen !! If there's ever a PvZ GW3, or in Star wars battlefront 2, please, above all things, don't arbitrarily remove splitscreen from the pc version. That would be incredibly disappointing
You are an idiot, they purposely removed this feature to make it so you have to buy two copies, two computers etc. It has been proven in many games that they purposely remove it on pc even if the code is there. Borderlands 2, left 4 dead 2, star wars battlefront 2 are all great examples of games that already had the code built in only requiring it to be unlocked...
I still don't understanding why it's so hard to listen to the public that want split screen on PC! Everybody know that a good PC is perfect able to handle split screen way better than consoles do. I hope some day in the future every gamer have the same feature on either PC and Consoles as well... If the next PvZ GW has not split screen, for sure a won't waste my money on that!
