  • @Dubmac257 Connect the other controller that the second player is going to use, and then press the X or Square button. This can be done anywhere.

    Does the 2nd player (on same console) must buy DLC as well ?

    @Dubmac257 Are you playing on console? If so, where are you trying to connect? Does it work in Giddy Park?

    @asukojo As far as I know there should be no DLC requirement. I don't think the 2nd player will get to share any cosmetics, but they should be able to access all the game content.

  • i getting this message on PS4 when trying to use second player :

    Failed to start split screen. There is no space in the group.

    Do you know what might be causing it? Bug? as my group has only P1 in it and other 3 slots are empty.

    @EA_David

    I play PS4, when I try to start the game with another account, it doesn't allow me.

    Is there a way to share/allow the game with another account ?

    Can you address why Split Screen has been left out (or deliberately disabled as in SWBF2) yet again? This is a really frustrating issue that is never discussed and any word on it would be very much appreciated.

    I'd really like to know why EA (or PopCap for that matter) seems to go out of their way to call this a co-op game when Player 2 (split screen mode) essentially gets to do nothing but tag along for the ride.  This is pretty unfair as far as co-op games go and it needs to be addressed.  I'd like the ability to play with my son and level up MY character as I go.  I don't care if you can save the level or not, but playing GW2 over the course of a few hours, it's getting pretty frustrating getting my permanently level 1 tuchus whooped by every other player in existence.

    That said, being that I bought, paid for and downloaded Battle For Neighborville for Xbox am I going to be able to download this to my PC (WITHOUT having to pay for it) and be able to play against my son?  This was a problem for GW2 on PC as you couldn't play across platforms.  Also, will I have to pay for downloading the PC version since I also bought for Xbox?  And no, I'm not going to buy another console just to do this.  That was one of the responses I got from your live chat people - buy another console.  That's not very helpful, just telling a customer to throw money at a problem.

    Yes I’m playing on ps4. I went to Giddy Park and tried and got the same message. This feature does not support guest accounts. You must be signed in to an account for psn to continue.
  • Yes! Thank you. I logged onto my XBox profile, entered the PvZ Battle for Neighborville game and my dear grandson immediately turned on his controller, logged onto his profile on the same console, the tv screen split top and bottom, and his character joined me at Dave’s Manor. We’re on our way to learning to love Neighborville as much as we loved being in the PvZGW2 backyard battleground. Thanks again for your valuable input regarding Neighborville’s Split Screen. ~ Rose

    I don't know yet about these simple methods like pressing square, as I haven't tried them.

    But I just have my daughter log in to her account, then I invite her from the friends menu.  She accepts the invite and then the game reloads in split screen.

    If the second player is logged in to their account, they will accrue all progress made.

    We've tried this no less than ten times and no invites come across my screen.  I don't know why they opted to not allow guests to play this game.  I'm contacting Microsoft and getting a refund for this game because I'm not going through the same nonsense I went through with GW2 where they absolutely won't allow player 2 to do anything except shoot.  When EA's rep in a chat told me to go out and buy another console in order to enjoy the full content of the game, I got really annoyed and beyond frustrated.  And when I found out you couldn't play with ANYONE on Xbox while playing on PC, it really put a huge thorn in my side for this company.  I'll probably never give EA another dime going forward.  I can't support a company that goes out of its' way to fleece its' customers.  Like the guy above who made the comment about PC people getting shafted yet again.  Really disappointing on every level.

    If you make another account then you shouldn’t have a problem. That what I did on ps4 because the game wouldn’t allow guest.
