Re: Switching teams in the middle of the game?

We can't stop people leaving the game, but we can stop people changing side once the game started. You've a few seconds before the game started to change side (assuming it's imbalance). If it's already balanced, you can't change side anymore.

Here steps:

1. Game started, server try to balance it as much as possible (already implemented).

2. People can switch side to least player team before game start.

Server enforced that only one player can switch at time. They implement queuing so we can't have multiple players switch at same time . Once the team is balance, they can't switch anymore (NEW).

3. Game started and you can't switch side anymore (NEW)

4. If people leave the game, it will be in balance (can't do anything about this).

5. New players join the game will go to least player team. Once they join, they stuck there until the round is finished (NEW)

6. Server keeps adding new players and balances it naturally.

What do you guys think?

  • Another problem I run into a lot in Team Vanquish which almost makes me not want to help anymore is I switch to losing team to help and players on that team switch to winning team now that I've freed the slot up.  It happens consistently with some players to the point when I see them I let them get stomped into the ground.

Also, there are a few players that only want to play either zombies or plants and typically same char over and over and they are very good players but their constant swapping to the same side ensure constant imbalance.  When this happens it forces me to constantly play the opposite side just to prevent 50-5 beatings every game.

If you see me playing and I'm not playing random chars, then chances are it's because of one of these two situations and I'm playing my best char to try and avoid a slaughter on a losing team.

This is typically on UK Team Vanquish BTW.
