Re: The Balancing Is Real

@Zaheen1337 I still don't get why you're saying Cactus is underpowered when I'm doing just fine as her all the time even when it gets competitive. My vanquish ratio is high when playing as her, you may be just using the wrong variant. I've been doing very well as 'Future Cactus' since she's a vanquishing machine at a far distance, I feel like a good Cactus is rare to me.

Also, the Chompers are now better since the buffs. (In fact they're far too good than Garden Warfare 1) Chomp Thing does deserve a damage buff though.

@MrGamer8000 her kit is just proficiet in g&g for the most. She lacks versatility.
Wallnut is so tricky to use, should cover more part of her body and being more resistent to have some real use

  • @xXFrozenChromeXx That's why I use Iron Maidens to climb up areas or protect myself against ZPGs, Super Ultra Ball, and Impkatas. Works a lot better than the regular Tallnuts if you ask me. I even use them to stop the AI zombies from advancing.

Edited as of 6/26/2016 to not create additional posts like that:
I agree on Potato Mines being more of a defense than rushing objectives, I do the same as most others when trying to capture the base as a group such as planting Potato Mines there. In Zombopolis where Zombot launches, I tried sneaking in where the Zombies spawn to plant Potato Mines right where they drop down. (It is possible since they don't have the out of bound danger zone)
But what can it be if planning to replace Potato Mines? It has to be a plant though, I don't even know if it's possible to do so. 😕

The Drone's Spike Shot in this game overheats too fast. (The Parrot Pal doesn't have trouble overheating as fast than Garlic Drone though, don't know why)

I should try it then 😉
Anyway i would like to see some ability for herbaul assault to replace at least the potato mines. Are not that useful there... cause.. well.. isn't cactus job rush through objectives

    @MrGamer8000

It is relatively easy to see when a player can play, and has experience.

I agree, maybe them two variants can hold their own in most situations but you can't deny that many zombies can do the same. Personally the only time I struggled to kill an Ice Citron is when I was on a bad team and there were 3-4 plant players gunning me down before I could warp next to him and pop him. Every time I got close he would ball up and roll off...

To me, the ball is more of an issue than his damage - the ability to get to places just like Superhero. Now that plants have an equal sort of character that can beam from almost anywhere on the map people are calling OP?

    -----

Just one point to add, maybe they're stronger with players who use mouse and keyboard but on console they're not all that good, especially when playing someone who knows what they're doing.

    Citron

    - Stun

    - Shield

    - High Health

    - High Damage Beam

    - Super Speed

This class has a lot to bring to the table, but if you nerf this class back to what he was before then he's just a giant ball of fail who is just a rolling target. He will just be like he was before, a free kill for most players.

    @Zaheen1337

On pc the situation is the same as before.
Citron was already overused and overpowered in every game-modes

3 on 8 people were always been citron, and honestly... i think he didn't bothered me that much... as.. i was already used to deal with him.
I was already used to use default citron Mastered before this patch.. now just to not feel guilty of myself.. i'm just running him without overheat and damage upgrades.. only hp upgrades for trolling. and he's mostly the same as he was.

Still, i think some small fixes on ice/default. To be specific, ice variant need just a nerf on freeze rate, and default the splash damage revert.
Before the overheat buff.. frozen was unable to get many kills.. mostly assists. And default with his +1 splash damage seems to be more efficient than a cactus at long range..and this could be a problem.
(not a real problem if they continue keep cactus in this state)

And a buff on Toxic Citron.. his toxic area is not so incredible bigger than default splash area that.. is low damage is not worth the pick. The area should be a little bt bigger to be a good crowd controller

For the most, no need to revert anything else. Everything else is just fine.
For the most.. he is just overused, not overpowered.

Still because 3/7 on plant classes are in a strange spot (roses, cactuses, chompers) and one.. even after three consecutive buffs post-beta is still doing poorly (Kernel Corn) based on their data.

  • Future Cactus does have the highest damage in the game which makes me enjoy vanquishing Scientists and Imps in one shot if dead accurate. I'm a fan of sniping players, however Citrons sniping is just plain dumb even they have recoil. Engineers, Soldiers, and All-Stars are a counter against Citrons when using the abilities (Even though Imps can stop the Ball, but they're in trouble when they eat EMPeach). I still don't get why people say it's much harder to aim with the controller than the mouse for the computer, maybe I'm just very used to playing games on consoles with the Controller like Xbox One. (In fact, they have Aim Assist option and I have it turned OFF)

Not only citron wasn't that bad before the buff, but we're aren't even asking for full revert of the change, the ball buff were nice for him,and so that the head hitbox redution, the problem is that again, Basic and ice gun just shoot for too long before overheating with his upgrade and they didn't needed the damage buff neither.

Huhhh, wat, last patch Citron was far from being OP, as for being overused...Well he wasn't that rare then say,a rose or a cactus. But he didn't seemed the most common neither.

@Boolerex He was if you would at least put more than a couple of hours to learn it.
His kit has everything, and even if doesn't excel at nothing.. he is good at everything and extremely versatile. To do good with him before this buff you had to exploit everything of his kit.
Little examples: forcing SB to TT and empeach in that istant.. using abilities when overheating cause the delay... using the ball to juke people, bait them to an ambush and let your team kill them, using the spin dash to remove pirate barrel blast, learn to use the spin dash in a specific middle-air position when you can't be hit and so on.

Even after this incredible buffs is incredible the amount of newbies that play him just by shooting when he is possibly the character with the best skill set and highest skill-ceiling in the game.
Even in this op state, people that perform bad with him are a lots tbh. I have seen only a couple of persons maximize his true full potential.
