Its not 50 levels its 45. Have you even hit rank 5037 or are you just complaining for no reason. The unicorn chomper will be unlock-able some other way in February 2017.

Aside to show everyone you've been playing this game for over 300 hours and played with every character there isn't. The rank 51 banner near your name is nice to have though.
There wasn't a reward for reaching max rank in Gw1 until they made unicorn chomper a thing for gw2 which is why not many people cared to reach max rank in the first game till now

This question has been answered over and over. You cannot reach max rank without that Chomper.
Reaching max rank is not a requirement or necessary and therefore is not a standard. Whether you reach it or not, doesn't affect the gameplay.
