Hello Neighborville!
I was off over the weekend so I didn't have time to reply. With changes to the game, sadly, I personally have no sway in what the studios for each game decide on. However, I do have the ability to engage with each community, gather everything you want, and send it to them. But again, whatever decision they make or don't make is entirely up to them.
I, like you, am an avid gamer and have played PvZ for a long time so the passion for seeing a lot updates is there for me as well. I talk about these threads weekly and others see how on 🔥 a lot of the threads are. It is not unseen.
When I or any other CM that helps out on these boards has more info for the series, we will absolutely post info on it. But don't let that stop you from pushing more updates for the series. More attention gets more 👀
Cheers!
- TheSprinter852 years agoHero@ForeverKnights We had a similar situation when EA fixed the Rux issue, we thought that EA would be able to fix the Portal schedule at the same time as when they sorted out the Rux issue.
- 2 years ago@TheSprinter85 Exactly, there’s just something fishy about this whole thing
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend@ForeverKnights Maybe there is but good luck actually getting an anwser from EA.
- 2 years ago@stukapooka Sooner or later we’ll get our answer
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend@VendetedFox I wish but after all of the silence for so long beforehand I really don't expect anything. They already shot us down anyway.

They're going to have to do some explaining about their decision one way or another. There's no reason they're able to fix the banning issue (which I can understand might take a fair bit of effort) but not update the Mystery Portal rotation, which shouldn't be that hard at all.

@MrJT-ArchiveThey say its not a simple and quick fix but they havent elaborated on that at all despite saying that they investigated every potential option which is also probably just a load of hogwash.
@EA_Shepardsaid to still send other ideas regardless of the news but whats the point as if they cant fix this than there's not freaking way were getting stuff like the legendary spawnabales fixed, torchwood/goat skins, or say wallnut hills/nighttime g&g maps in private play either as even if they did it would just loop back around to the "why didn't you fix the portal then?" argument. - 2 years ago@MrJT-Archive Agreed, they can’t just leave us hanging like this
- 2 years ago@MrJT-Archive They can even release it as a DLC, this way they can profit from it and we can have our fav modes back!
- 2 years ago@stukapooka If our fav game modes like boss hunt were only available on private play, I’d be happy too, because at least we can still play them
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend
@hellishgotherI loved the private play remastered mod on PC because it added all the modes and maps into the portal (except cats vs dinos and nighttime g&g) and being able to play soil survivors, wallnut hills, or capture the taco anytime I want even if only against bots is a godsend.
I can even play the hunts solo even if that means I usually get folded like a lawnchair before the boss shows up but i believe Wolfy has an old video where he beat brothers gnomus solo on normal with toxic brainz on the mod.
Even something like this would be a massive improvement for gw2 but nah game's old and it would effect servers probably *sigh* - 2 years ago@stukapooka But how would it affect the servers if it was put on private play?
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend
@hellishgotherI don't know but they'd probably find a way to say that as a reason because why bot crush our hopes and dreams a bit more at this point.
Modders have even created custom hunts with AI and they're also pretty good. Even one with the scrapped imitater boss and ket me tell you fighting disco as a zombie instead shows how terrifying he can be.
There was also Thanos tree that used the spooky squash tenplate but auto activates the tomstones to bypass AI not being able to hold them which is a genuis fix tbh.

I wonder if limiting these hunts to Private Play would have been easier to implement? This is something that I never really thought about actually. At least these events would be permanently available, and you could play with friends or probably other players that you invite. These hunts would be extremely hard to complete without other players though ...
- 2 years ago@TheSprinter85 I’m happy with boss hunt being on private play too, at least that way we can still play and we can do it with our friends
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend
@HieldankaHeck it would be a good compromise solution as then the achievements are still doable (except community ones but at this point i'll take just having the fun modes back atleast) but you would just need friends/invites which wouldn't be terribly hard as long as you can organize a few people you were just playing with to get on board.
Just invite a full ops team you were playing with and then go bash yeti king into dust.@EA_Shepard is this a possible idea that could be considered?

@stukapooka On the real, I couldnt say if a suggestion is considered or not. I know that the more things get attention, the more eyes it has on it. My job is to gather and send over. Its entire up to the teams to make changes. I'm here for you. Once that email goes out or I provide info in that meeting, its out of our hands. I would love to see these changes made for players but with older titles, it is harder.

@EA_ShepardThanks for the response and everything you've done for the community lately by sending these ideas/requests.
Hopefully something can happen with atleast one of them. - 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Thanks for letting us know, because most of us are even willing to pay real money to be able to play those game modes again ❤️

@stukapooka Yep, I had a lot of fun making both the Imitator and Thanos Tree hunts! If you haven't seen it already, you should check out the Super Chili Bean one I made. Anyways, speaking of modding, I have a little secret to share from my days as a modder. Especially considering all the recent talk I've been seeing about adding BH to Private Play if the Mystery Portal rotation can't be updated.
There is unused code in the files for a private Boss Hunt playlist, where you seemingly would be able to host your own matches of Boss Hunt similar to Garden/Graveyard Ops. I'm not sure why this feature was scrapped (maybe not fully finished?), but it should've made it into the final cut of GW2. It'd be really cool if we could get a small update where this could be officially implemented into the game!
Oh and one last thing, thanks again @EA_Shepard for being an AWESOME middleman for the ever-growing PvZ shooter community!
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend
@MrJT-ArchiveWow thats really cool. I wonder why it was never finished as being able to host boss hunt for friends/invites would've have been an amazing mode. Heck i probably wouod've jumped in solo just to see how far i could make it in some.
Gw2 really needed a better final update where stuff like this would've been fully realized.
I'll try out the super chili bean when I get a chance. - 2 years ago@stukapooka but mods are only available to pc players
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend@hellishgother True and that sucks as i want to play wallnut hills on xbox with only an all imp team against kernel corn but being able to put the modes themselves into private play could be done for every system if the effort was put in.
- 2 years ago@stukapooka All my progress in on xbox, which means I can't even play the mods
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend@hellishgother That sucks man. I hope we really get something as console players can't just mod the game when they want to experience the old modes.
