Shield zombies not taking damage

I am so frustrated with this update.  The shielded zombies no longer take any damage unless you play a very high card.  For example, if a zombie with a shield is in an environment that does 2 damage and battles a card that does two damage, it will not take any damage.  This is made worse by the lowering of the strike power of some of the plants.  I’ve always played the plants but I’m going to switch now.  Soon, no one will play plants.
