Skill based matchmaking is not filling up lobbies

Yeah, I enjoy playing with newer players rather than other high ranks. That's why I'm on Garden Ops more often now.

I was impressed by the lobby (in the pics below) I got put in with for this one Boss Hunt run on Normal. It was pretty sweet to have won with 'em.

I got put in this lobby after 13 runs with ranks 700 and above. So, I think there is a Skill-Based setup somewhere for the boss hunts.

I just played a few Team Vanquish matches in a high rank lobby. After a few rounds, it became quite empty. With the former matchmaking system, I would have simply switched lobbies and played in a different, full one. But now, I have to stop playing or play a different mode when this happens, because I know the game would put me in the same lobby again and again because of my rank. Yesterday, I even restarted the game three times until I landed on a different server (noticeable by the ping), so that I could join a different lobby.

Afterwards I played an ultra-laggy Turf Takeover match. Unfortunately the more high ranked players are in a lobby, the laggier it gets. Just another problem that is caused or in this case worsened by the new matchmaking.

Playing on a lower ranked account is probably the only way to bring back the Garden Warfare feeling. Unfortunately I would have to start all over again. Unless they don't remove SBMM my motivation will probably fade out soon.

One thing they should apply urgently is the pairing of squads. That is to say that if I enter the portal with a squad, the first thing to do is find another squadron with a level similar to mine.

Lately I have played as a team with my friends (after all GW2 is to play with your friends) and in one occasion we played another group with the same ability as ours. The game was very cardiac and to win we had to play even better as a team.

Perhaps with that correction the multiplayer would feel more level.

I had interesting results tonight.  I entered a game with DerTuefel1 and his wife, level 3000 or 4000 something.  The turf lobby got nasty so we switched to mixed mode, and eventually somehow it was down to us versus a complete column of baby blues, evenly matched number wise.  And as it turned out, skill wise too, at least as far as the numbers showed.  We had a run of fun games.

I also played on my wife's account closer to 1 AM, and I found a bunch of fun games against an array of levels, but not exceeding 10 or so.

Once again this weekend decided to try the Mystery Portal, at first it was good the room was full.  After about 5 or 6 games we had 4 vs 3 and never filled 

up after that. The games were taking almost 20 minutes to complete and you would only end up back in this very same room if you left!  This system is very flawed and has ruined the best part of the game!  Playing with new people and just having fun.  

I know you are trying to do something for the game but to me this is not it.  I am taking a long break as it stands right now.
