I too have stopped playing this game seriously. Let me address your points.
1. Frozen Citron can never be truly balanced. He will either be underpowered and therefore unchosen by players, or OP as all get out. That's because he has a low skill beam weapon that induces a crowd control effect. Team Fortress 2 had a low skill crowd control minigun that was never truly balanced for this very reason. You simply cannot assign slow and freeze to a weapon that fires constantly and permits easy hits, and if it is permissible, it's because its so weak it is useless and no one will bother, which is ultimately what happened to that minigun.
2. The Mechs are OP because they cannot balance the Imp outside of his 'Mech in comparison to the 'Mech itself. What I mean is, if the Imp is too weak, they'll just camp and wait for the 'Mech before attacking with it. If the 'Mech is too weak, the Imps will never summon them and will either not play Imp or just play as Imp itself. The Mech is another class the Imp replaces himself with, and it doesn't work, not unless they can figure out a way to make it more like a regular ability.
3. Scientists have been overpowered since day 1 of the first game. No accidental risk of eating someone and being helpless like Chomper, higher damage than Chomper, head hit capability, sticky bombs that can't be avoided if they hit you with them, and the ability to outheal damage sources. Been referring to them as the cheat class because they are treated as a CQB class instead of a healer. Need to be damage weak like Sunflower before I would even consider them balanced.
4. Chomper as a whole has been hobbled in this game, between a pointless goop nerf, a massive increase in game pace which means he's always caught chewing, and no buff or cleave/aoe to bite effects means you basically take the fire chomper as a flamethrower class or you avoid him altogether. My favorite class in the first game, which I destroyed entire zombie teams with, is much less useful here. Especially on attack. This game premise was never meant to have attacking plants!
5. The Backyard Battleground was novel and fun at first, but it quickly became a Banjo-Kazooie world hub for me and lost all its glitter except as a way to train with friends or derp around for a while. The real issue with it was that more and more single player content that we didn't ask for was added instead of a pure focus on multiplayer G&G action, which is what we really wanted.
6. Welcome to software, now get out.
Overall, I quit for a different set of reasons, but I can't say I blame you for kicking this game. Here's hoping GW3 returns to its roots, no pun intended, and ditches all the stuff we didn't want.

I think they should change Frozen Citron so he fires like Electo and Tank. Should be the case for every ice characters. Soldier is also freezing very fast !

Its not only the balance, that take almost a year now to finally be "OK", its the grind what makes most people quit. In GW1 you could just play whatever you like, after the first 100 hours you had everything, the rest was just pure gameplay reaching 313. Now we have Stars, Coins, Rainbowstars and whatever. And not a few coins and stars, TONS of them. Most parents buy there kids the game and they play a few hours and are done with it. Its still a kids game and kids dont want to play or have the time to spend so many hours playing a video game. I
spendwasted almost a 1000 hours of my life and 50 million coins into it and still miss over a 1000 items. The last 500 hours wasnt fun at any time, I was just leveling up all my characters in solo games, because I just cant stand the multiplayer anymore. 9 years olds, spawncampers, dumb people doing whatever, but not what they acctually have to do: capturing or defending the garden. There is just to much solo content, the gnomus DLC wasnt a real update for me, it was just created to keep the playerbase and that people arent getting bored of it. Now what can we see in the portal games? Not only that no one (of my friends and a lot of other guys) dont want to play portal games, but they have to, its the only way to earn rainbowstars to get new content. We have afk cats vs afk dinos, suizide trolls, exploding for nothing, children that dont know the rules for boss hunt, what is so hard that you really need skill, or lizens to hide. There wasnt a single mode me and my mates enjoyed, we just do it for the stars. Empty lobbys, slow games and even players that are using a afkprotection. Then RUX! A nice idea, badly created. 500k coins for a bad looking HAT or a new textured special? 1 million coins for a single character piece? WHAT? Now dont come with the argument: Its a LEGENDARY, they are suuuuuper rare you should be happy spending 2000000 for one of it!? I know that Popcap works under EA, but just remember back in GW1 you got a character for 50k. If its legendary, rare, super rare or whatever, its a character you will master and then most likely never play again. Least but not last the spend-earn difference: Its a mess! Jesus we started the game in febuary with the most expensive 35k pack, what was already 5k more than the Legends of the Lawn DLC pack or glimmer pack. Then we got the Zombopolis pack, what was first announced with 50k, this got changed after the playerbase complained, but they made it so that you only get 4 items, after you had the normal items, you spend 40k for a super rare. Then the 200k pack, what is in my eyes just stupid, but the hardcore farmers said that when you can get the party characters (who arent even stonger than the standart variants) its worth spending millions of coins into it, but first of all you have to get all the retextured ones, only 3 per pack just saying. And now the new FF pack, seriously what is this? 10k more then the Zombopolis Pack, why??? What makes the difference? In GW1 it was so: After you got all rare, normal items, you just got super rares and then the consumables! But now you spend 10k for each card in that pack, theres always a 10k CONSUMABLE in it?! Things must change, now! I stopped playing the game for a while, I came back and NOTHING changed.- 9 years ago
Paragraphs.
But yeah, I agree with everything you've said.
The grind-filled nature of this game is frustrating, especially when you have other games you'd like to play & put time into.
Might as well be called: PvZ Grinding Warfare 2. It's a suitable title.
