Sticker Count Increasing Through Gameplay?

If you mean just sticker count then it you need to collect all sticker shop items, level up all characters, and get all infinity items to get max stickers.

if you mean why the max count is increasing it is caused by collecting items with the rarity "special". I also think i is caused by leveling up the z7 imp or unicorn chomper. to prove it look at the sticker book after you get a special item. 

Aren't those upgrade you unlocked?

Let me provide a bit more info based on some actual gameplay I just completed:

I started the game (on a PS4), and in the Backyard went to the sticker book. On the "Cool Stats" page, I saw that the collection was "2,859 / 8,211". I further looked at the Crazy Dave plants main page and saw that the plant sticker collection was "1,210 / 3,980", and the Zomboss main page showed the zombie sticker collection was "1,649 / 4,231".

At this point I played two multiplayer Turf Takeover games, with results as follows:

Game 1: Kernel Corn, Specialist, level 9, 5 KO's, plant victory

Game 2: Marine Biologist, Beginner, level 3 (moved to 6 over the course of the game), 21 KO's, Revive Master boast, plant victory

I then went back to the Backyard and looked at the sticker book. On the "Cool Stats" page, I saw that the collection was now "2,861 / 8,211" (an increase of 2). I further looked at the Crazy Dave plants main page and saw that the plant sticker collection was unchanged at "1,210 / 3,980", but the Zomboss main page showed that the zombie sticker collection increased by 2 to "1,651 / 4,231".

At no time did I visit the sticker shop or do any kind of sticker purchases. The increase of two stickers was due solely to gameplay.

So, I return to my question: Has anyone else noticed this behavior? What is the sticker increase based on?
