Once you get to level 50, why are you still playing ranked play!?!?!? Is there some sort of reward for playing once you’ve reached max level? If not, then STOP PLAYING RANKED PLAY! At that point a...
I have to agree with this player asking ultimate league players to stop playing rank.
Reason: Ultimate players usually have been playing way longer or bought many more cards than someone climbing the rank, through the leagues. Making it usually an unfair advantage to the ultimate league player. The Ultimate gains a star if they win, but that star means nothing. Where as some climbing to reach Ultimate gains a star closer to the next league.
Ultimate league players have a choice of playing casual mode, or random mode. So its not like they can't play the game. Ultimate's should concede if they go into rank mode and come against a low level player. If they don't, they will put off new players. This game needs new players, so don't make it harder for them.
Effectively, Ultimate players should be matched to Ultimate level. BUT >>>Stupid<<< EA, PopCap have not done that. Yes you could learn, from playing Ultimate league players, but that learning should not cost you a star in rank - hence why, casual mode does not make you lose a star if you lose against a player.
I've been playing this a game a long time.. so I do think its about time they changed or sorted the rank system.
Or perhaps a new matching making where you can choose to fight an ultimate league player? but not in RANK.. seriously do you not realise how annoying it is to come up against someone who has all the very latest legendary's, or is a serious gamer and does nothing but play games? where as your opponent might be a kid, who only gets pocket money and therefore earns most of their cards through getting gems and doesn't play all day every day? OK, your not breaking any laws by being an Ultimate league playing in rank, but you have to pretty sad to play hard against gold level that might only have a third of the cards.. where is the challenge in that? says more about the Ultimate league player than the gold player trying to level up - as in, they want an easy target to massage their ego.
I have a new account, and since starting it only a week ago.. I've been matched once to an Ultimate league. As that new account only has the bare minimum in it, it really is not much fun playing against an Ultimate league. You can be sure they had way more cards, and way more powerful cards than my very new little green shadow.
I've said it before, create a new bracket for ULs to play ULs exclusively. Might work, might not.

I’ve made ultimate every season and when I’m playing ranked once I reach ultimate, I will usually take them until it’s obvious I’m going to win and then I’ll resign. Stars mean nothing and I’m not trying to keep people from advancing in ranks. That said, if you’re trying to climb, don’t be discouraged when you see a higher ranked player. Most everything I’ve learned in this game was from playing people better than I. Watch what they play and when they play it. Really pay attention to what they’re doing. I gaurantee you it will make you a better player.
Conceding is the right thing to do if you are ranked 50 and playing below 30 when you have it in the bag. It doesn't hurt you and you got to play a little bit. Kicking little kids doesn't make you a man.

You really need some perspective and a dose of reality.
This isn't life or death. And no one is "kicking little kids" either.
Winning and losing are parts of life. It doesn't do anyone any good to be given handouts.
I would never let my own kids win when we play board games. What would that teach them?
I would actually play more casual after getting to ultimate league each season, but ever since the game added rank symbols to the start screen of casual games, it is a huge pain in the *. More than 50% of the time my opponent disconnects when they see the ultimate league rank picture. Sometimes I just don't feel like screwing around looking for games where my opponent will actually stick around.

@0IOWEFWEFUIOWEFW No, it isn't. You're asking players to fix the game, instead of the devs. Sorry, that's not how it works.
You're asking other, better, paying players, to give up their game, so you can get a win you don't deserve. Sorry, that's entitlement.
You're acting like they chose or enjoy playing you. No, that's wishful thinking so you can justify your entitlement.
I couldn't say it any better than that.
I have drawn two conclusions from this discussion.
One, I'm clearly not making my point at all. I don't give a * about having the 50 star rank to show off how awesome my completely anonymous username is. What's the point of a status symbol in a game that doesn't even show you my name or face? I am talking about the CARD BENEFITS ONLY! In a free to play game where you can just play the game to grow your card base, what's the harm of letting EVERYONE benefit from the system that's in place? It's not about winning games for some BS status symbol nonsense, it's about giving other players the chance to build their card collection. If Pokemon cards were free but you had to play games to get them, then I'd step out of the way once I couldn't gain any more benefits from playing so others could GET THE CARDS! Not the ridiculous, useless, utterly pointless status symbol of a stupid gold star. Are you getting me yet? It's about the CARDS! Not the title.
Besides, now that I've learned the difference between 20 and 50 is 3 packs I'm probably only going to play ranked to get those gem rewards between levels. It's not worth it for anything else.
Number two thing I've learned. Some of you people take this game way too seriously. I'm "entitled" because I want to get to the ultimate? First off, that just tells me you're not understanding what I'm saying. Hopefully I've finally laid it out in a comprehensive manor. Second, relax man. It's a stupid, pointless little gold star. You didn't win the purple heart. Get over yourself.
Let me put it another way. If I owned 4 copies of all the cards, I would never play ranked because that level ranking is meaningless. I'd play for fun and I'd play the challenges. Again, in a game where you can build a collection by playing the game, what do you level 50 players have to gain by playing ranked once you've made 50?
Yes, because when the first people who rose to rank 50 in any given season did it they were not playing against level 50 players. It's impossible that every level 50 person played at least one rank 50 person to get there. Me asking to play level 49 and under only isn't entitlement. It's asking for you to not be a *. I'm willing to extend that courtesy, why aren't you?
On top of that, what makes you so cocky that only level 50 people are good players or have the only good decks? I've been stomped by people on all levels. Why is the level 50 players some sort of rite of passage that I must be forced to walk? Why must YOU be forced to walk it? You do realize that if all level 50 players stopped playing at ultimate than YOUR climb to 50 would be the same as mine, right?
