Stuck at Zomburbia Gates, Can't Play Game

Installed the game from disc to Xbox One, my son began playing with Citron and got exactly 5 mins of game time in before he was kicked out of the game and sent to the gates of Zomburbia, where he sat and waited for approximately 10 minutes before we decided the game was frozen and restarted the Xbox One.  Logged back into Xbox Live / EA servers, we were sent back to this screen... gates of Zomburbia.  Several times now over the past two hours we have rebooted the Xbox, logged in and out of Xbox Live, EA, even uninstalled the game and reinstalled.  Our internet connection is fine.  We keep winding up staring at the gates of Zomburbia.  What is this?  We preordered this game and have waited and waited.  I have a VERY upset 7 year old this evening that cannot play the game he saved his allowance for............  Is this an Xbox Live problem, or EA Server problem? Please help!

    Xbox live has been up and down all day http://support.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox-live-status 

    Are there any msgs on screen?  You shouldnt need to re-install but just turning the xbox completely off and on again can sometimes help as it kicks you to a new server.

    This is how to do a power cycle on xbox one

    press and hold the Xbox button until the light behind it turns off (about 5 seconds), which means the console is off.
    After the console has shut down, unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds.
    Plug the console back in and turn it on using the Xbox button. Power cycling will reset the network card and clear the cache.

    I had the exact same problem, a very upset 8 year old for about an hour who had saved his pocket money up for this game. I did as suggested and it worked. Very big thank you from us both. :eahigh_file:

    Done as suggested and rebooted. Got through gates of zomburbia then started growing as a sunflower then taken back to splash screen saying connecting to EA servers. Is this a game or EA server issue. Am annoyed having just payed £40 for this game that the very first attempt my 2 boys have made have resulted in the game crashing at these points. Are there any workarounds other than taking the game back to the shop and getting my money back?
