Taunts (Pics & Speech)
Interested to know if anyone is getting as tired as I am of certain pics & speech phrases being used as insulting taunts post-vanquish & on the podium? I'm not a huge fan of taunts being used post-v...
Being a single dad with 4 younger kids, I understand your argument. But I also think that having a poo emoji is way better than having some kid with a headset saying “your an F’ing B****” and stupid immature stuff like that constantly before, during and after a match. Having someone tell me I smell or that I look like a Poo emoji is nothing compared to other games that promote taunting and cursing out your opponents.
I think it’s all in how to perceive the emojis post match or on the podium. Honestly, if someone uses a crappy emoji, I grab a couple of my awesome PvP player friends in the next match, and target to absolutely destroy that person until they rage quit. I know that’s probably not the most mature thing to do but I like to humble people up that think they’re better than others, especially on a video game. I’ve always hated bullies but in PvZ BFN, I think the emoji system is wayyyyy less harsh than 95% of other games past and present!!
@DeAtHaDDiCtiOn5I know what you mean - when the poop emoji came out, I kind of rolled my eyes & thought we'd just get a bit of silliness from young kids but the majority of the time, these are being used in a more malicious way, sadly.
The game I referred to at 11pm, wasn't just a case of me being miffed that the emoji was used on the podium, it was that it was used at the end of a game full of toxic targeting, spawn-camping, dancing on / shooting at bodies with a variety of speech & emojis (not just me, the whole team) & an absolute stomp-fest. Those options weren't being used in fun but to insult & enrage. I watched as every single one of my team-mates left the lobby at the end of the game before I did. And it's not by a long shot the only game I've seen that kind of thing.
I think you're right, a lot of it depends on the context in which these are being used and yes, maybe it is better than hearing stuff in chat but at least we can mute players or turn chat off completely - I think we at least need to be able to do the same with these.
And sadly none of my awesome friends play BFN anymore . . . 😭🤣
Let me be honest, I never taunt people UNLESS, I manage to vanquish someone who has killed me many times over (and most likely are taunting as well) or if communicating to my team (with a saying such as "Move Out" counts directly after vanquishing someone).
Not all people are going to take being taunted lightly, so if adding more expressions, the developers should consider if it's going to cause any real issues or not when people use it! 👍
@ToastedSarnie I completely understand! I’ve also been in those kinds of games that aren’t going our way and the other team is being extremely immature about it. In that case, yes, I agree that is completely unacceptable for the other team to constantly push and taunt in a way that isn’t BFN friendly. (Sorry if I misunderstood your comment before typing mine. I know what you mean and that was * me off to another level too)
I think an easy fix is exactly what you described, being able to turn off emojis or at least seeing them. I mute players like the ones I described in my previous post but I get why this would enrage you, since you can’t turn off the inappropriate emojis. If you’re on PS4 and you run into that situation again, LET ME KNOW!! 😁
