We’ve had some feedback from our champions on this matter which is why I want to jump in. @daalnnii, @GrinningRuiner & @jaydabbler have pointed out that there has been a lot of conversations around the different factions/decks in PvZ Heroes, about some being more “over powered” than others. There has always and will always be discussions like this for card strategy games, I’ve played many of these games myself and in all honesty the faction I always find stronger is the one I play against. In Plants vs. Zombies there are even factors like draw luck that enter into account. This means that even if you consider your faction weaker it may not always be the case depending on the hand you and your opponent kick off the round with. One thing is certain is that neither the Plants or the Zombies dominate the game, for a game in which one faction plays against the other this could never work out. The game itself would never have made it this far. We want the discussions on the forum to reflect that in a certain aspect. Plants & Zombies, decks & cards, all have their strengths but also their weaknesses. That's what makes this game so interesting, some players know the game inside out and how to use this to their advantage without giving a second thought. This is why strengths and weaknesses of these components is what is also more interesting to discuss, than whether or not you find a certain fraction stronger than the other. @bythehill, Believe me if I had numbers at my disposal I would gladly share them, especially if it backs up my point above. Honestly you don't have to believe me, all I ask is that you hear me out. I've discussed this internally with some of the dedicated teams that work on this game. Teams that have been playing this game before it was released and that continue to play it on a daily basis, testing every aspect of it. They know this game inside out and they are extremely proud of this game, if something wasn't working out they would be rectifying it. I even printed out these drawings to bribe them into providing me information: Hero Costume ideas After seeing those, no one could lie to me. All kidding aside, I'm also sharing my experience as an employee who has worked alongside many of these teams and on different strategy games. When the game is unbalanced we are quickly made aware of this, especially if it's the one of the two only factions of the game and we intervene to correct it. You can continue to discuss this, but do so in a constructive manner. As it stands you are being far from constructive towards several users that have accumulated thousands of posts between them. I think that what really determines if a card is "balanced" or not relies on 2 main factors: Its own efficiency (Stats by cost) and the "value" the user can get from it.Let's talk about the efficiency first.A common card on this game usually gives you 2 "points" for 1 resource. These "points" is what you use to give a plant/zombie strenght, health or abilities. Most one cost cards use this points in order to create a "body" (1 "point" in attack and 1 in health, creating a 1/1). Skunk Punk, Small-Nut, basic Peashooter, etc are some examples of this.Sunflower is another good example. It spends 1 "point" in health and the other one on an ability (create 1 more sun at the start of the turn).If a "body" is not going to be created (on this case a trick) you can use this points as an effect. (Bungee Plumber is a good example. Its 2 "points" are focused on direct damage, rather than creating a 1/1 zombie).However, just from this example we can see that there are cards that surpass this rule (Like Sting Bean that has 1 attack, 2 health and 2 abilities (Amphibious and Bullseye), making it 5 "points" for the same 1 resource). Paparazzi Zombie, Mini-Ninja and Wall-Nut are other examples of "overstated" cards (BTW I am only talking about 1 cost common cards)An uncommon card gives you (usually) 4-5 "points" for the same 1 resource. (Dog Walker has 4 points on stats and 1 on an ability, Loose Cannon has 2 points on stats and 2 on an ability, etc).But then things get out of control. Headstone Carver has 5 points on stats (1 attack/3 health) and 1 on its ability. Its ability may never trigger, on which you would have paid 1 resource for only 4 points. However, this is where the second part enters, the "value" a player can get from the card.If the effect of Headstone Carver triggers, even if only once, you give another zombie 2 extra "points" that are technically free.If it triggers twice, then you get a 1 cost zombie with 9 points worth of stats. (1 attack, 3 health, 1 ability, and 2 extra attack and 2 extra health to other zombies).This is what determines if a card is "balanced" or not to a player.Cards whose effects can be used again and again are more "broken" than those who are not, because you can get more "free value" from it (like Captain Cucumber).

What you say sounds sensible. Already there are two people who agree with your post but how is this post different from any other post that deals with one side being stronger than the other?

It is doubtful that there is any way to proof that one side is superior to the other because first you have to define what that means. Does it mean that the plants win more overall or that the top tier players prefer one over the other thereby knocking down the lower level players and keeping them down there?

Really without imperical data what the op is saying is just an opinion. Why not release global stats on all battles? Numbers say a lot but they can only tell us as much as we let them tell us. But I doubt this will happen.

On another thread I ve read of the healing which is very strong on plant side. I feel when I play zombies as longer the game is as lower is my chance to win. Except nurse gargantua there is not really much viable heal. Additionally I feel that with my plant decks I have on almost every hero a healing ace which saves my * if it’s getting too dangerous. MAssive damage in the early game is my tactic with zombies (deadly frenzy or strike) right now.I have not been very successful with other strategies. Maybe I just suck at control decks idk. My plant decks are very flexible and almost each strategy works well. I would also love to see some stats eg.

how is the win ratio
i bet 50€ that there are much more plant players right now 😄
PS: @EA_Roger Regarding your advantage disadvantage thing please tell me what clique peas disadvantage is.

CP disadvantage is that it floods your deck eventually. (yes, technically that can be a 'bad' thing). for example, not pulling an environment when you need to overwrite something, or a rocket to remove something etc etc

Well here are some facts.
The fact that EA Roger addressed the issue, thank you for that by the way, and all that you've done is try to poke holes in something that isn't there, speaks for itself.

That is the closest thing to talking to a dev as you're gonna get on these forums and on these issues. You need to take it for what it says...and it is not much different than what many others are saying.
Basically that any dog can have its day...

And he also said that it is never going to be cut and dry as to which is more powerful.
The fact that the randomness of card draw comes into play, which is why we are not ever going to have a definitive answer.
Also skill level is too much a factor to have the black and white list of plants vs zombies mean anything

What's the point of repeating what was originally said?
The fact is that nothing is definitive unless there is precision. For example, one can't say which side is stronger but one can say which side wins more battles because numbers can easily make it a fact. That's what I said. I'm curious which side wins more battles not because it would proof one side is more powerful rather to see if the ratio is close to 50/50 or if one side has been winning significantly more battles.
