I could write a short story with my frustrating experiences in this hunt over the past nine months... Or I could show the following two pics of a run this Monday morning that left me speechless. 🙂
(TIPS)
[Selecting A Character]
1. I'm not going to make recommendations because of what I went through but if you come across a chomper, know that you will have 33% more work to do on the popsicles. That part is troubling enough in this hunt. Would you like it to be any harder?
2. Know which abilities would be best to use for the character. Ideally, Law Pea had Dark Bean Bombs that were great at vanquishing zombies behind us when we powered up and were shooting the king. Rose had Arcane Lotus and was invulnerable while healing us. I had the Rainbow Heal Flower constantly nearby. Don't do anything like switch to High Jump for a peashooter or equip a Dark Flower for a sunflower.
2a. If you're a sunflower, I'd recommend the Solar Flare beam. If you ever find the regular yeti do his little dance to call upon an icicle rain, you can vanquish him scary quickly with it and a dozen regular pulse shots.
2b. Depending on your character, know your attacks. The power flower's regular attack is good for groups of enemies while her Solar Flare beam is good for quick one-on-one high damage output.
[Scrumptious Ice Cream Waves]
1. Plant pots. Everywhere. During the first wave of regular zombies, the Law Pea in the pics always went out and placed Bonk Choys or Snap Dragons.
2. Work together. If you find a sunflower that can't seem to heal or if you find others already jump into the rooftops with a "non-splash" character, you've probably come across a bad partner who doesn't know basic teamwork.
3. Survive the waves. Here's my recommended priority for targeting enemies with Yeti Imps being first: Yeti Imps > Arctic Trooper/AC Perry > Goalie Star/Regular Mobs > Yeti. Even though the yeti is last, be sure to use your surroundings to stay alive. Remember that there is a building with a rooftop close by to protect you from the icicle rain.
[The Yeti King]
1. Decide what you want to do and stick with it--confidence in teammates is important. Specifically for the popsicles, stay on top of the wooden roofed bridge, stay by the cement bridge on the opposite side, or be on the ground handling enemies and assist the others when possible. As a power flower, I was on the cement bridge by myself. Law Pea was on the roofed bridge. Rose and Torchwood were almost always near each other and Law Pea. You don't need all roles filled, but you will need at least two. (Ex: Two on roofed bridge/two on cement bridge)
2. Remember to always plant pots. Use them to your advantage instead of none at all.
3. If you can, vanquish the disco zombie and regular yeti. Wouldn't want to have a nasty case of double icy rain or invincible disco ball plant repellent ruining your shining gold moment of attacking the king, would we?
4. Do not be afraid to use your abilities when attacking the imp (King's Fool). If you get it right, it'll recharge by the time you're attacking the king.
[Attacking The Yeti King]
1. Whoever is fast and has over 125 hp should get the slushy. Take into account that when peashooters root, their damage is decreased by half.
2. Immediately after vanquishing the imp, whoever is not drinking the slushy needs to go to the king right away to not be left behind and waste time. It's very important for sunflowers to heal teammates out of being frosted from enemy attacks in this point so that everybody will make it.
3. You're about to attack. If there happen to be any empty pots nearby, plant a Heal Flower, Goop Shroom, or Ice Shroom. This depends on what you need and how far you are from the king. The Heal Flower is good if you're about to attack from next to the pot. The Goop Shroom is good if you think the king is going to move elsewhere and don't want him to run and ruin your attack. The Ice Shroom is good if it's along your way and want enemies behind you to stay away for as long as possible.
4. Attack, but also defend. Place Heal Flowers, activate heal beams, activate Citron Shields... Do it and attack the king. While you are attacking, make sure you are doing your best to aim for his face. Critical hits stagger him and make him not attack your team as much.
4a. The king likes to attack whoever is consistently attacking the most. That's why you may notice random icicles going your way if someone else has stopped to reload. As a sunflower, stop attacking and back away a bit if your health becomes low.
4b. If you're a peashooter and you have Chili Bean bombs of any variety, you have two options: Use them for when a lot of zombies get behind your team or, if that doesn't happen, do a small jump (not a Hypered jump!) and throw them at the king during the last few seconds of Spring Radiance (slushy effect).
5. (For the majority of instances when there's no roof over your team) If you're the one who drank the slushy and you see the yeti king getting ready to summon an icicle rain on your team, you need to move to another spot. You don't need to move far--just enough so that your team won't be pelted by ice. On Crazy difficulty, the damage from this attack is unforgiving even with multiple sunflowers so dodge it.
6. When the effect wears off and if your team has been growing plants in pots, you should have a small amount of zombies to fight during your getaway. If not, be prepared for a brutal test of survival. Rinse, and repeat.
And there you have it. After me attempting this hunt probably a hundred tries, I managed to beat it on Crazy with an unorthodox team. Maybe you all will have better results in January. If not, then I'm sorry this sunflower main wasn't there to back you up.
Good bye and good luck!

Boss hunt design for advanced and hard core player, and need teamwork and strategy especially on crazy level.
Most team struggle on 3 points:
1. Popsicle.
This one is very easy since 2 player just need to be on bridge roof top and nail 99% of popsicle (except the on top of the bus). Team of 2 sun flower should stand by on far end.
2. Distance of imp to King Yeti is too far so lost valuable time.
Here is the secret : Do NOT kill the imp ASAP but bring the imp CLOSE to the king. Great idea, but HOW ?
One player shoot the imp, then run away from him. He will "FOLLOW" you ! So keep shooting little bit and drive him to Yeti. Other 3 players just protect the group, and clear the path. When you got pretty close by but safe distance, finish him off. Heal all players to max health, the strongest player should drink this.
3. Fail to survive when attacking the yeti king.
One player must be DEDICATED to BODY GUARD the team during attacking period.
Even though u're sure u have cleaned the zombies, new zombies will come out of the blue and start rushing. The most dangerous one is frozen mini yeti. So one player must watch the team six while inside the circle for fast kills. He must do this process especially when 3 other players bring their big gun. Once the big attack done, the last player can load his big gun then back to body guard. If totally empty, all four attacking. Once yeti start dancing to bring ice cicle rain drop, instruct the team to move from that spot to avoid all the team got killed !
This video show : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKFRxOZz2W0
1. How to nail 95% of the popsicle and how to split the team. U can see pair of sun flower on far end (4:20)
2. How to guide the imp near the Yeti king (2:17). Thanks for downtownmpls for the tips.
3. How to body guard the team (3:00)
I post details strategy here:

I just started watching your video. At the beginning, that big T in the middle is a lousy place to be, thus your vanquish. The last time around with yeti king, redmichii and I spent like 10-15 minutes placing dozens of infinite heal flowers up there before starting and it still turned out to be a death zone for the DPS characters. You[re just open to attack from too many directions by the soldiers and yetis. Thanks for posting, I'm looking forward to seeing it all when I have time.

Yes, the big log in the middle of the map is very bad place since I like a chicken duck getting shot from all directions.
I was there after 1st round of attack happened on far end and then get surrounded by zombies and the popsicle round started so I've to take some hit to get the popsicle round through. Lucky the other player made to roof of the bridge. Otherwise, it will be nasty ending.
I encounter many glitches (4-5 times) during the game as well where the team already damage more than 50% :
1. After respawn, one player got stuck and can't move.
2. After respawn, I got out of body experience and can't do anything.
3. Get kick out from the session and can't join back...this is a pure torture and frustration.
4. Lagging so bad got me killed so many times since I'm shooting ghost while zombies eating me alive.
5. If dies then you start messaging, something weird gonna happen.
