I wouldn't freak out about it, but it was open right at the exact time it was supposed to be (Yesterday at 10AM Eastern), but has since closed back down. I haven't heard exactly why it got shut back down, but heard the game mode may have had some bugs, so they might be working them out. No one knows when it will be back up.
Yes, it is closed for all right now, but Rux is open in the sewers selling legendary items. That wasn't on the calendar so it must be to tide us over until the mystery portal can open

Five Stars for you !! That was exactly what I was thinking! ... People would be busy doing portal challenge and not buying coins to own the legendaries at Rux's store!!!!!!!!! Rux's store has lots of legendaries because of the big error with the red chest reward at the last cummunity challenge!!
I haven't had the opportunity to check, but I hear the mystery portal is back up and running.
And, they apparently have not added any time to the time gate, despite the loss of almost an entire day.
