Treasure Room Has Puzzle?

Have you ever wondered why there's a solution for the puzzle inside the treasure room after beating a trial? Well I have found out! It's... rather disappointing. It's just the same solution you used to get in, with two missing. So, incase you were wondering what it was, then there you go.

  • Actually, every code you receive from a Trial is also repeated in the prize room with two symbols missing.

After you finish all four Trials, or probably as you're doing them, you'll notice that all the missing symbols are different symbols and are missing from different places.

Once you are done with the Trials the eight missing symbols and their positions from the four codes you earned give you a fifth code for the Puzzle Room.

Oh, thank you. I've only three out of four treasure rooms as of right now. I figured out the 5th code, but I guess I need to get the fourth treasure room before I can put it in.

The best way to put the secret code in, for the final gnome battle, is to use Microsoft Paint as a guide. It's a bit difficult where the missing two symbols are from each trial, but if you use Microsoft paint as a guide, and list the missing symbols in a different color, you'll put together the final code easily.

For example: If you completed the red trial, list the eight symbols in red using Microsoft paint, and after you defeat the red boss and enter the respective room with the chest in it, two of those symbols will be hidden. List the two hidden symbols in either black or white on the same list. Repeat the process with the yellow, green and blue trials. The hidden symbols will be in different places for each one.

This is what I mean (the codes might be different for everyone):

The Trials of Gnomus are designed so that the 5th code won't work until all four Trials are completed. Once you do complete them all the 5th code will initiate the battle with the Rainbow Guardian so be ready for a fight.

Personally I wound up using the Vampire Sunflower to defeat him since the Life Leech shot heals you as damage the Gnomes, and there will be lots of Gnomes, as long as you don't let yourself get cornered or mobbed you're good.

When you do go up against the rainbow king, there's no-nonsense coming from him. As the Trials of Gnomus is restricted to Normal difficulty, it adds to the difficulty of survival.

For me, I used the Iron Citron not because of his Iron Mode, but because he gets back some of his health after entering Iron Mode when he's below half-full. When I engaged Iron Mode at the right time, I went on and led the fight against the Rainbow King, and got him in the end.

If you don't have Iron Citron, then (as realitysquared mentioned) use the Vampire Flower.
