@Iron_Guard8 @ToastedSarnie Another Commodore 64 kid here. I have very fond memories of that computer.
@jnicol1975 judging by your callsign, you're 6 years younger than I! I got my C64 in high school and used it in college thanks to an Okidata printer and speedscript, a word processor manually entered from the old Compute! Gazette! magazine!
- 6 years ago@Iron_Guard8 My son's looking at me with the weirdest expression on his face right now! I'm going with awe, though I suspect it's closer to horror!
- 6 years ago@Iron_Guard8 You programmed your own word processor? Hardcore! I hand copied some BASIC games from an Usborne book, and programmed a few text adventure games from scratch. Fun times.

@jnicol1975 Well typed it in from the magazine. Those old computer magazines had a lot of programs to type in, mostly games, but also stuff like that old word processor. Later on, you could pay extra to get them already typed in on disks, but I never did that. Most of the games were kind of lame but some were decent.

Agreed, the battle-chest quests are horrible. Some are classified as difficult, but they are incredibly easy whereas easier ones are harder than they should be. For example, on the plants side there is a team-vanquish match with 3 or 4 plant AI and the AI does not know what to do and simply die to the AI zombies. Another one I had trouble with on the plant side, it is a suburbination match against imps and the bonus objective is to destroy 3 mechs. There are 8 AI imps and I had to do it 4 times because the imps were not using the mech ability.
Overall, the quality of the missions are not in a great position and sadly they are not fun to do.
