I'm not sure what that error message means, best place would be checking with Customer Service: http://help.ea.com/
This didn't solve my issue by any means but helped with how often I get network issues with Xbox One Connection Issues. I also do not disconnect from PvZ GW as often as I did. On your home router if you are able to Setup Port Triggering or Port Forwarding you can add these ports:
These are basic Xbox One Ports:
TCP: 53, 80, 3074
UDP: 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500
Just adding these triggers will help with Xbox One behind NAT. EA does use 80, 53, and 3074 for but not for the PvZ GW multiplayer connections. Sorry, trying to get those ports from EA as we speak.
Ports 80, 53, 3074 may fix EA Origins Authentication issues. If that is what is causing your issue.
(Opening these ports help fix issues with Xbox Live Voice Issues and Destiny partially)
Hope it works for you.
- Anonymous9 years agoThis happened to me when my kids were trying to login. I had to create EA accounts for each of them as they were trying to login on their Xbox profile using my EA account, which was already liked to my XBOX profile.
Before I created their EA accounts, one was logged in on my profile and the other could only join as guest. Now they can split screen using their own Xbox profiles and respective EA accounts. - EA_Archi9 years ago

Hello @pugplant
I am really sorry for those connection issues with the game. Can you check this article here on the most common connection issues and the ways to fix them. Keep us posted on your progress.
Cheers,
Archi
I had the same problem.
I read the instructions from this thread and created a new EA account for our kid at ea.com with browser, but using that from PvZ GW2 didn't work, although we were able to login with the same account to ea.com with a browser.
The problem was solved by creating yet another new account from the PvZ GW2 game itself, when the game requests to connect the X-Box user with an EA account, and there's an option to create a new EA account in the game app in X-Box. Note: The game requested "your parent's email address" when creating the new account, so that may have also played a role here.
This is still horribly broken. Created an ADULT account so my daughter could play Anthem with us and now we can’t login at all. EA is enforcing some age rating despite me unblocking this on both the Xbox and EA side.
