Unable to play, sign in or do anything with P Vs Z GW2

I downloaded Plants vs Zombies GW2 from PlayStation a couple of hours ago. I also subscribed to PS+ and opened an EA account.

This is happening on a PS5. I open the game and the startup animation runs. I press X to play and I’m given a choice of: View License, Accept, or Decline. I chose Accept. Next a message appears telling me to reset my password (that I had created a few minutes earlier) and shows a QR code that simply gave me a 404 message. If I then press X I get a tab entitled ‘Connecting’ telling me I need to have a EA account (which indeed I do have) however there is no option to either login or close this message. My only choice is to turn off or switch games.

I have never had to get through so many obstacles just to play a game (which I bought for my grandchildren). I would really appreciate some help here, the sooner the better.
