A Remake Proposal for Justin Wiebe — Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Hello to the EA Community Team, and hopefully to Justin Wiebe, I am writing as a longtime fan of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, and more specifically of the very first Garden Warfare. For years now, the community has been hoping for a new shooter worthy of that legacy, and I genuinely believe a remake of the original Garden Warfare could be a fantastic opportunity, both for the players and for EA. Right now, there is no team actively working on a new PvZ shooter. The franchise has been dormant while player demand is still very much alive. We have also seen several studios recently focus on remakes and remasters with strong commercial success, proving that this kind of project can be highly profitable while carrying fewer risks than building a brand-new IP from scratch. Justin, if you happen to see this, or if the Community Managers can pass this along to you: your vision for the first Garden Warfare was magical. Here is what I think would make a remake under your legacy a massive success today: 1. Visual Identity: Keep the original Garden Warfare's art style, which a large part of the community still prefers over the later games. 2. Map Design: Bring back all the original maps, modernized technically, plus brand-new maps on top of them. 3. Expanded Content: Add much more content, including more classes, more character variants, and more game modes. 4. Social Experience: Include a central hub, similar to what the later games introduced, to keep the experience dynamic and interactive between matches. 5. Gameplay Balance: Put real effort into balancing from day one to avoid the issues some overpowered content caused in previous titles. This does not need to be a complex, risky new sequel or a full franchise overhaul. A faithful, expanded, and well-balanced remake of the first game would be more than enough to meet an existing, passionate demand and bring the community back together. Many players are ready to invest in this title, whether at launch or through live-service support, representing a genuine commercial opportunity. I would also like to ask the community team: could an internal or external team be put together specifically for this project? I understand the original PopCap team may be assigned elsewhere, but a motivated, well-supported studio could absolutely pick up this blueprint and deliver a masterpiece. Thank you so much for reading. I sincerely hope this message will be taken into consideration and forwarded to the right design teams. Hello, I'm writing as a longtime fan of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, and more specifically of the very first Garden Warfare. For years now, the community has been hoping for a new shooter worthy of that legacy, and I genuinely believe a remake of the original Garden Warfare could be a fantastic opportunity, both for players and for you. Right now, there's no team actively working on a new PvZ shooter. The franchise has been dormant while player demand is still very much alive. We've also seen several studios recently focus on remakes and remasters (Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed, etc.) with strong commercial success, which shows this kind of project can be very profitable while carrying less risk than building something entirely from scratch. Here's what I think would make this remake a real success: Keep the original Garden Warfare's art style, which a large part of the community still prefers over the later games. Bring back all the original maps, modernized technically, plus new maps on top of that. Add much more content: more classes, more character variants, more game modes. Include a central hub, similar to what later games introduced, to keep the experience dynamic between matches. Many players would be willing to invest in this title, whether at launch or through additional content afterward, which represents a genuinely interesting commercial opportunity for you. I'd also like to ask whether a team — internal or external — could be put together specifically for this project. I understand the original team may not be available anymore, but I believe a motivated, well-supported studio could absolutely pick this up and make it a success. I purchased PVZ GW2 from the Steam platform on May 31st this year. This issue first occurred around June 20th, and it has occurred sporadically every time I launch the game and leave the EA server's multiplayer mode. The symptoms include character level drops, character statistics reversion, and completed missions refreshing again, while stars and coins remain unchanged. My Super Elite Level 8 ordinary pea shooter could have been promoted to Master after occupying the grass in a game of Wall-Nut Hill, but when I returned to the backyard, I found that his level was still Level 8. On the third day, I played a few rounds of Garden Warfare, and the pea shooter could have been promoted long ago, but when I logged in next time, he was still at Super Elite Level 8. I think this is due to a hack on the server or a new bug. Now almost every PVZ GW2 player has this issue, and I am worried that my character will no longer be able to advance at a normal speed in the future. Regardless, this issue is accelerating the death of this gameMissing 50 Rainbow Stars from Torch and Tail DLC due to inventory cap glitch
Hello. I recently bought the Torch and Tail Upgrade bundle on PlayStation but did not receive the 50 Rainbow Stars. I realized this happened because I already had 3 Rainbow Stars in my inventory, which glitched the game's strict 50-star cap. Support told me they can't do anything because the game is old. Since I paid real money, could a Community Manager please look into this and grant some Coins to my account as goodwill compensation? My PSN ID is DHMHTRHSNASI21. Thank you.[Resolved] Change the Mystery Portal Rotation, Please!
There are multiple achievements that are unobtainable at the moment (Check this post for more information about them) There are 5 achievements tied to game modes you cannot play anymore. How you used to play these game modes is when they would go live in the Town Hall Mystery Portal for a limited time. In January back in 2020, the Mystery Portal was changed. PopCap stopped supporting Garden Warfare 2 to continue development on Battle for Neighborville. To avoid shutting down the Mystery Portal, they made the Mystery Portal automated by making it rotate game modes based off of a list of what to play dependent on what month. The problem with this rotation is that they didn't include any live event game modes that have achievements tied to them. So at the moment, getting all GW2 achievements is actually impossible. (Check the post I linked above for what they are.) Current Rotation: - January: Lawn-A-Thon 1 - Febuary: Lawn-A-Thon 2 - March: Legends of the Brawl - April: Capture the Taco - May: Tactical Team Up - June: To Heal or Not - July: Rando's Rapid Revenge - August: Lawn-A-Thon 1 - September: Lawn-A-Thon 2 - October: Legends of the Brawl - November: To Heal or Not - December: Rando's Rapid revenge In my opinion, the most favorable option would be getting someone from the community to make a schedule everyone is happy with. A different solution that's automated, and easier to do would be exchanging some of the game mode repeats in the list for game modes like Cats vs. Dinos and Boss Hunt. For example, you can replace the repeated August Lawn-A-Thon 1 with Cats vs. Dinos, and September's Lawn-A-Thon 2 with Boss Hunt. All of the content with these game modes are in the game when you download it, so releasing an update that players need to download wouldn't be necessary. The only problem I see with this is that Boss Hunt has 4 different playable hunts, Brothers Gnomus, Yeti King, Spooky Squash, and Sasquatch. You would have to pick one of these to put into the rotation, but I think implementing a system that makes the game randomly pick one of them when you enter the portal to play is the best choice instead of picking 1 and neglecting the other 3.28KViews102likes1082Commentspvz gw1 remake
if ea and popcap think about making a new garden warfare they should remake garden warfare 1 first to see if people are still interested and they know its a good game so they can see and they will defiantly make lots of money and if it does good make a few updates then make a new garden warfare game if sales on gw1 remake do goodSerious glitch on the European server
When entering Turf Takeover as a plant on PS5 and from European server (haven’t tried entering as a Zombie) one is placed on the Moon Base Z map at the last section where the countdown shows 00:00 time left and with no Space Balls available. In fact the Space Ball indicators point to the preceding section. In addition the Zombies and Plants can intermingle on the tunnel and passage that leads up to the actual play arena. There is no corresponding problem on the USEC server at moment of writing. Could someone please look into it as the game (Turf Takeover) is basically unplayable. The GW2 App on Playstation 5 has twice lost the connection to the EA server
Last night (Central European time) in mid game the GW2 app broke off the connection to the US East Coast server and requested that I sent in the accompanying error code. This happened again just now while playing on the European server. As before, the App requested that I sent in the accompanying error code. Is it possible for someone to look into into? Would be much appreciated.
