I am very happy that we can stop seeing these bad actors ruining the few multiplayer lobbies we have left.
However, I am concerned that using mods in private lobbies or solo will also trigger the anti-cheat. This would be very disappointing, as there are some very passionate and dedicated fan mods out there to play, several with the quality of PopCap themselves.
I have no knowledge of game development, anti-cheat, or what is going on behind the scenes in terms of manpower, but my suggestion for a band-aid fix to this would be to enable the anti-cheat for multiplayer/public lobbies, but disable it for things such as Friend/Invite/Solo lobbies or the Backyard.
Personally I don't use any mods so this will not affect me, but I feel this may cause the small player count to drop if some players cannot alter the game at all.
