Weekly Event - Return of Rando Confirmed!

I haven't played yet (I didn't play the last 2 either to be honest) but someone posted yesterday that they were having issues with the first challenge registering properly, is that still happening?

10 orbs in one match is rough. And as @ToastedSarnie points out it puts you in direct competition with your own team for limited resources. It should just be confirm/deny 15 total orbs (not in just one match) as that both let's you count picking up friendly orbs as well as enemy ones and you can be less aggressive against your own team.

I do love Rando events though, as long as superspeed is not involved!

Agree with all of you about the final challenge. The rando part makes it difficult because only some characters lead to high orb counts naturally. Had more than that with snapdragon but only had him for one game and it was before this challenge started for me.

And then there is aspect of competing against your own teammates for orbs. We have raised concerns about this before and with the improvement of challenges in general I had hoped we were done seeing this sort of challenge.

The other challenges were fine. Took awhile to get my win one but it registered fine for me. Zombies seem to be kicking butt in general. Plant wins have been incredibly close in the game I have played but some zombie ones are steamrolls.

@MrKritiek Wizard is in the rotation, I'm not sure if what they are doing about people who don't have him though.

Again, no time limit. These 3v3 Rando Confirmed are so much fun! /s

As always, thanks for all your input everyone! The third challenge was a little difficult to obtain. We had a game with a really quiet lobby, as players kept continuing to disjoin, so we were doing some waiting around. And I had to do my third challenge, and it just so happened we were in the Colossal Fossil map. So I got my brother to run into the minecart 10 times so that I could deny the orbs that dropped from it, that's how I got my third challenge... 😇🙂!

For the event itself, it's quite fun. You get to level up a bit of each character. You get to try different playstyles. You possibly get to use Wizard even if you don't own him yet (if that is possible). It's a great twist of Vanquish Confirmed. I must agree with the third challenge and its difficulty, I did "cheese" that challenge so must agree it's difficult, however for this challenge you can deny orbs as well as collect orbs from vanquished opponents.

Something weird I noticed about this event (and other rando ones) is that me and my brother always get spawned as the same character at the start of each match, there has never been a time where this has not happened. Is that a split-screen thing I wonder?

Here are my weekly challenge tips for this week's event 🙂:

1. Win a Match. Simple enough. You want to deny and collect as many orbs as you possibly can. Use your character's attacks and abilities to your advantage whenever you can. Even Drones, Parrots, Heavy Helpers, Burrowing Chompers and Invincible Roses and Electric Slides can collect or deny orbs (correct me if I am wrong). If you join a match and you are on the winning team, well there you go. You will also want to help your team as much as you can try to earn vanquishes with your character, and help protect your teammates from being vanquished, so that your enemies can't pick up your orbs! 

2. Get 20 vanquishes. As normal, it does not need to be done in one game, and shared vanquishes count, but assists do not. This is best done as an Attack character as their main purpose are to vanquish enemies. But any character will do. Sticking with your team is an ideal approach for this challenge as you are less likely to be vanquished and should be able to, at a minimum, achieve a shared vanquish, which is all you need. Abilities like Potato Mines, Explosive Escape and other high-damaging abilities can prove really useful as you should be able to instantly take out an opponent if they are caught by an ability. Snipers can prove to be really useful as well. 3. Confirm 10 orbs in a single match. For this challenge, denying orbs also count. If you are a close-range character, like Chomper, you will have an easier time collecting these orbs as you will be close to the enemy once they are vanquished. Another option is staying near your team (or at least one teammate) and trying to deny their orb if they got vanquished. If you manage to find a lone enemy and battle them, and you win the battle, that's a free orb there. Like the first challenge, use your character's attacks and abilities to your advantage to collect and deny orbs. This challenge should not take too long to complete if you focus on grabbing or denying these orbs. Then again, there is always a chance that in Colossal Fossil, that someone near you will run into the minecart by mistake … !
