As a man who has tried them all personally the Fire Pea is actually really good(I I masted him in rank already) I've seen people using the Toxic due to that aoe specially against Imps and also noticed a lot of Plasma Peas so im assuming they've gotten better.

To be honest, I haven't seen a stand out. I've seen plenty of people with the stock Pea Shooter who were/are really good, and plenty with fire/toxic/plasma who just weren't. So far, I would say, they seem to have a really good balance between the sub-types for this particular class and would advise using which ever you end up enjoying the most, as I think it's going to come down to personal preference more than which one is really "the best".

  • Toxic and fire pea are from pvz gw1, so are you just asking out of all available options in the second installment are best?
Personally, I've always liked agent pea; his damage is 2x for head shots, he has ten rounds of ammo, and fires as fast as you can pull the trigger.
Out of the new variants, I'm intrigued with electro-pea because his shot can be exploded...but they move SLOWLY so I'm still good with agent pea.

Most commonly encountered peashooter for me has been Toxic & Electric in PVP. I do see the other ones occasionally but some ppl don't even play the standard classes until they unlock a variant they like.

  • I've started to encounter several situations where the new rock pea can actually be more effective at close range than you might think at first glance. It has tons of health and a fairly decent impact damage.

The beauty of the Peashooter is that all the sub-classes are viable and situational at the same time. My favorite is the Toxic Pea, followed by the Agent Pea, however the Rock Pea kis great at defending on Suburbination provided you got a good Sunflower with you.
