I had no idea about this either. I’ll have to check it out when I get home. It makes since though. It’s easy to blame something on lag. But even the slightest delay in frame speed can mean certain death.
I was mostly talking about the frame data and how a TV can have a slight impact on it in regards to how tier lists are (properly) constructed. We all know that all games have frame rates, etc., but frame data is much more relevant in fighting games because the players use (literal) frame perfect combos in some cases. Lag certainly never helps out good players, but I can say first hand that a very minor degree of lag (in a fighting game) between two high level opponents can mean the difference between a win or loss, but in a team based game (like Call of Duty, Garden Warfare 2, Gears of War, etcetera) lag simply does not usually have that type of impact (but can in very rare situations).
